Outback Bowl (Auburn vs. Northwestern) Auburn's LB/DE Antonio Coleman Northwestern's DE Corey Wootton Gator Bowl (West Virginia vs. Florida State) West Virginia's RB Noel Devine Florida State's CB Patrick Robinson Captial One Bowl (Penn State vs. LSU) Penn State's DT Jared Odrick Louisiana State's WR Brandon LaFell Rose Bowl (Ohio State vs. Oregon) Ohio State's DE Cameron Heyward and S Kurt Coleman Oregon's TE Ed Dickson Sugar Bowl (Florida vs. Cincinnati) Florida's DE Carlos Dunlap and CB Joe Haden Cincinnati's WR Mardy Gilyard I just named two or three draft eligable players for each bowl. Florida's Tim Tebow, Penn State's Navorro Bowman, Oregon's Lagarrette Blount, Cincinnati's Tony Pike are all guys that can make some money today.
Some other big names from these games: Florida Mike Pouncey, OG Aaron Hernandez, TE Lawrence Marsh, 3-4 DE Ohio State Thaddeus Gibson, 3-4 OLB
Good call on Larry Marsh. He's finally back to 100% after missing some games early on, Marsh played through pain for most of the season. The Pouncey Twins are both very good offensive line prospects. I think Maurkice is the best center in the nation. Hernandez has the talent to be a Dallas Clark type tight end in the pros. Man, Florida is talented. I mentioned Gibson earlier in the season, and WW had some pretty good insight on this kid. I love his versatility.
Chad Jones is pretty awesome and he's huge for a safety. Even if he has a future in baseball, Jones will probably play pro football instead. Florida's safety Major Wright is expected to declare early. Jones and Wright would still be behind Eric Berry, Earl Thomas, Taylor Mays, and maybe Reshad Jones. I'm really excited to watch Kurt Coleman play tonight. He's been very impressive this year.
Keep an eye on Oregon's safety TJ Ward too, he's been really good in the games I've seen the Ducks play this year. Chad Jones has improved tremendously over the course of the season for LSU. At the start of the year I thought there was no chance he'd leave early, but now I think he may really consider it. The only thing is that he might want to play another season for the baseball team after the way he finished up the CWS last year.
Heyward would play 3-4 defensive end for the Jets. He's huge. I see a lot of Richard Seymour when I watch him. If he decides to come out, he'll be a first round pick. He could go very high just like Tyson Jackson did last year. The battle for the top defensive end prospect will be awesome: Carlos Dunlap, Everson Griffen, and hopefully Cameron Heyward. (late edit: ...maybe Derrick Morgan as well)
Heyward is showing me just what I wanted to see from him today, and that's hustle. He looks like a no BS player, a guy who isn't afraid to hit for 60 minutes. OK, rather than throw out more cliches, I'll just say that Heyward has really affirmed himself near the top of my Jets wishlist. Sadly, we won't be anywhere close to where he'll go.
Heyward is such a steady player. Uses his strenght and quickness to make plays and never gives up. Doug Worthington is a good player on OSU's line, may become a very good rotational player in the NFL. Gibson is a thumper, who plays with a mean streak. DeVier Posey , only a soph, is showing his NFL potential. A big receiver with good hands and is very physical. Dane Sanzenbacher is MR. Clutch, a perfect slot receiver and could be an excellent #3 reciver in the NFL. Could be a Rd 3 prospect in 2011. Brian Rolle is an excellent LB in the middle, doesn't have typical size for a LB, but plays with alot of intensity. Pryor has looked good, throws too many floaters and has happy feet (I've mentioned that before) but has made some good decisions.
I really Brandon Saine. If he gets up to around 225-230 and doesn't lose any speed, he'll be a great power back at the next level. I wish OSU would give him some more carries though...
OSU is running back by commitee with Saine and Herron, good players, not spectacular. Thad Gibson may be a perfect 3-4 OLB. Plays with a chip on his shoulder and punishs players.
I glad you brought up Coleman. Coleman is a ballhawk and plays alot bigger than his size, which will hurt his NFL stock. Should be an excellent special team player and a good player to rotate in a NFL secondary. A very smart player that understands coverages very well.
