the Idaho kicker must've had rocket fuel in his right leg. He kicked it from the 15 (after the unsportsmanlike penalty) almost to the BGSU endzone. WTF? The returner was tackled before he got anywhere, and that ran the final four seconds off the clock. ============ Humanitarian Bowl recap 35-28 Idaho, BGSU ties it, Idaho punts on 4th and 8 from the BGSU 44, touchback (terrible punt) Freddie Barnes gets left wide open down the field on a completely blown coverage, BGSU takes a 42-35 lead with 32 seconds left. Thanks to a 50 yard bomb to Preston Davis, Idaho is in position to take shots at the endzone. Terrible decision not to call a timeout wastes some time, but they still end up scoring with a catch by Komar, his first of the game. TD is reviewed, but it stands as called. 42-41. Rob Akey decides to go for 2, but BGSU wasn't expecting that and calls a timeout. Preston Davis gets open in the back of the end zone, and Enderle drills him with the ball. 43-42 Idaho win. 12 TDs. Barnes had 17 catches for 219 yards and three touchdowns to shatter the NCAA FBS record for catches in a season. He finished with 155. The previous record was held by Manny Hazard, who made 142 grabs in 1989 for Houston.
33-0 Nebraska with 14 minutes left. Foles is 6/20 for 28 yards and an INT Arizona is also averaging less than 2.5 yards per rush attempt.
Didn't watch the games today. Just not that interested. I've been watching college basketball instead. May watch some of Tennessee/Va. Tech tonight. Air Force upset Houston, 47-20. Oklahoma barely got by Stanford, 31-27. Gerhart got 135 yards and two TDs against a top 5 rushing defense. Pritchard sucked, and that was the difference in the game. Had Luck been able to play, I bet Stanford would've won. Navy is looking like it's going to pull off an upset. They were 6.5 point underdogs, but they lead 28-13 in the fourth.
Ryan Williams is out with a twisted left ankle. They just put a new brace on and they're hoping he can make it back. Va. Tech just punted again. 7-0 Hokies The SEC has won the last four over the ACC in the Chick Bowl: LSU, Georgia, Auburn, LSU Tennessee's offense has been going nowhere. They just started this drive on their 10 and the first play: screen, loss of 3. Second play: run for a yard first quarter ended on that play, setting up 3rd and 11 or 12 to start the second.
first play for Tech after the punt: 42 yard bomb from Taylor to Kohl first and goal Ryan Williams is back in for this drive
a Williams run got 1, incomplete pass, and a sack appeared to set up a field goal, but there was a facemask on the sack. First and goal again.
Tennessee finally gets on the board. 14-7 with 6+ minutes left in the half. Meanwhile, Iowa State is up 1 in the 4th
West Virginia is destroying FSU. 14-3 and FSU cannot stop the running game. Major bowls start at 5. Rose Bowl (Ohio State-Oregon) and then the Sugar Bowl at 8:30 (Florida-Cincinnati). I will unfortunately miss both. The major bowls should be saved for the end. The Orange Bowl, which is the weakest of the BCS bowls this year, should be today, and the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl should be Tuesday and Wednesday. Plus, what the hell is a 6-6 FSU team doing on a New Year's Day bowl game?
This Northwestern vs. Auburn game is turning into something, 21-21 right now, a lot of big plays so far. The QB from Northwestern looks like he could be a solid backup in the NFL, and of course Wootton is a beast.
FSU picks off WV and turns it into points after a few plays. 14-10 Mountaineers Auburn is up 35-21 late
wow, 35-27 auburn over n'western, and Northwestern have just recovered the fumble with 2:32 left. Game's getting good.
