If the Jets win, they're #5 seed, and meet the Bengals again in first round. Is there any specific method of placing which games go on Saturday (NBC) or Sunday (CBS)? The Jets can possibly play the first playoff game 6 days later. That extra day of rest between Saturday and Sunday can make a difference.
How can we be the sixth seed now, but we're the 5th seed if we win? Wouldn't that make us the 5th seed now?
Here is a good explanation of the situation. http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/12/27/making-sense-of-the-afc-wild-card-picture/
Rather play Cincinnati on the road than New England. That's for sure. Then again, I want to see us beat Belicheck in the playoffs.
I REALLY need to know what day this game is on. Because I have to put in at my work I need to take off a week in advance
I'm more afraid of New England than any other team. I wouldn't mind playing Cincy twice, I think they're beatable.
The greatest thing to come out of this is that if we win on Sunday....the day this team comes together either next year..or the year after...Rex will not be coaching his first playoff game and Sanchez will not be playing in his first playoff game. Let the chips fall where they may if we make it...I just would love to have those two guys to have a playoff game under their belt for the future. That to me makes this season an overwhelming success.
Francesa(AKA know it all) says this will be the schedule because he's never wrong(haha yeah right). Bengals vs ____ - 4 PM Sat Cowboys vs ____ - 8 PM Sat Pats vs ____ - 1 PM SUN Arizona vs ___ 4 PM SUN
jets will undoubetly play on saturday during the day...that is the least prime time game and jets vs bengals is that game....
Haha if we play Saturday at 4:30 we get the random 2nd NBC announcing tandem. It's usually guys we never heard of. I like 4:30 on Saturday..
thank you. im just as pumped and excited about this as well but lets not forget how some of us over looked teams like miami jax and atl and we all know what happened there
Why does it really matter in terms of the team getting rest? We're playing the same team who is getting the same amount of rest anyway. On that note, I advise everyone to just take off Saturday AND Sunday...duh
it's slightly different because when we play the bengals in week 17, most of their starters will be almost fully rested, while the jets starters will be beaten up all evening. penning10tocoles almost tries too hard. A for Effort buddy. Guarantee if I do a search of all your posts, I can find a hypothetical post based on a future outcome.
It is still possible that the Cowboys play Arizona, it is also still possible that Arizona gets the 2 seed and has a bye. So obviously this is not set in stone. I would wager that the time slots for the AFC games are probably correct though, that is how I would lay them out for ratings. After last night I think it most likely that the NFC games will be in Arizona and Minnesota. If that is the case the Arizona game will likely be Sat at 8pm and the Minnesota at 4pm Sunday.
