After being let down by NCAA Football on the "next gen" systems (360 and PS3), I've decided to trade in my NCAA game for store credit and one of the previous NCAA Football titles. Also, my little brother and I played against each other for like 3 hours tonight - so fucking fun. I've looked up which games are supposed to be the best and I can't decide between 2004 and 2006...both are supposed to be like less than $3 at Gamestop, so I'll probably get both. Teambuilder was an awesome idea, but it still has so many problems. I've really been wanting to start a realistic dynasty with a horrible FCS (I-AA) team for a really like time. I'm thinking about taking over a team like Sacramento State, Portland State, or Montana and building them into a national powerhouse over a couple seasons. Yea, I could have a fun dynasty in the NCAA 10 for PS3, but the gameplay sucks complete balls and the AI is horrible. Playing on "Heisman" with custom AI on the PS2 on 6 minute quarters was seriously the most fun I've had playing a sports video game. Anyone else still play PS2 NCAA's?
this is kinda off-topic for this thread, but i commend you for just forgetting the next gen stuff cuz of the fact that they suck and instead going for the older, yet more playable titles. me and my brother still play mvp baseball 2005 for the xbox, and every spring training we spend a few days updating the rosters a bit. the gameplay on 2005 is still far and away better than the gameplay offered by any of the modern day next gen baseball simulations. it's kind of annoying to think about how next-gen gaming was obviously supposed to be an advancement, and yet so many huge titles, especially in the sports genres, have taken huge steps backwards.
I couldn't agree more. The graphics weren't even better until this year. Hahaha...I'm not playing as Florida anyways. Seriously though, I plan on editing my recruits into real players using Rivals.com and Scout.com. As boring and tedious as it sounds, it's really relaxing for me - it relieves a lot of stress out of my actual day.
I played NFL 2K5 up until Madden 10 which is the only Madden good enough to beat the previous gen IMO.
Madden 10 is an awesome game - it's the first next gen football game that's been done the right way...which is a good sign for the future. I just enjoy the college football games more and I really think that NCAA 2006 is the best football game ever. It seems like a perfect game.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the dude who did the previous gen ones took over from 10 onwards, which is a good sign. It's still a disgrace that it took 5 years for Madden to catch up to 2k5 though. NCAA football is even more fun but I haven't been able to get one on the 360 since they don't sell them over here.
Madden 10 is a sick game. Kris Jenkins is unstable when you use the right thumbstick to swim around and push olinemen back.
NCAA 2006 was great. I probably logged in at least 100 hours into it through my freshman year of college.
I've probably logged 100 hours into this game over the past week...hahaha. Oh how I've missed the user catch.
