As per Rex Ryan, why would you take the best coverage guy in the world out of coverage and blitz him?
Absolutely! I watched this too and I said the same exact thing. He said Revis was not as good because he doesn't blitz. Well, that’s not how we utilize him. We trust him with one on one coverage with the best receiver the opponent has to offer and that’s what will free up our safeties to blitz. I'm sure he is perfectly capable of blitzing. Like you said, what does this have to do with being a shutdown corner?
Marshall Faulk shitted on him and told him Revis hands down. He basically laughed while Irvin was talking and realized Irvin was just going to be louder than him. Soon as Irvin decided to be an idiot and used team records to debate he said "when you play the bears and lions twice a year you should be a 9 win team". Also mentioned the quality of recievers he shut down. listed the stats of TO in 2 games, Andre Johnson being shut down, and Moss shut down two times. Then Irvin just got louder than him and he shrugged it off. Faulk knows what hes talking about.
Funny thing is i've seen him at a stripclub in miami getting a massage from one of the strippers lol. My freind was like "Holy crap that's Michael Irvin", after that i look shortly and i say the same thing. I think he noticed because he put his sunglasses on right after.
Irvin is a complete asswipe. I saw this as well and got pissed off too, but, then again, its expected from someone who justs rambles on with his opinions and zero facts. Faulk has come a long way, and is rising in his trade now, and he seems to get better and better. Hell, even Warren Sapp is better then Irvin and thats saying alot.
