Seriously??? toughest ever??? Let's look at some of the Jets opponents... Dolphins (twice) Bills (twice) Raiders Bucs Titans (led by Collins during their losing streak) Panthers Jaguars Falcons (Ryan's first game back from injury) What a naive, narrow-minded statement...
He's talking about how Revis personally has had to go against receivers like Andre Johnson (#1 in receiving yds), Moss 2X (#5 in receiving yds) TO 2X, Colston, Roddy White and Steve Smith, with Ocho Cinco and Wayne (#2 in receiving yds) to come. Obviously the Jets' schedule wasn't too hard overall, but for #1 receiver machups it was pretty rough for Revis. Is that too hard to wrap your simple troll mind around?
Let's look at the players he had to cover: HOU -> Andre Johnson (Matt Schaub) NE -> Rany Moss (Tom Brady) x2 TEN -> no one worth of notice NO -> Marques Colston (Drew Brees) MIA -> no one x2 BUF -> Terrel Owens (Trent Edwards) x2 OAK -> no one JAC -> no one CAR -> Steve Smith (J. Delhomme) TB -> no one ATL -> Roddy White (Matt Ryan) You think that is no one to cover man to man? Schaub, Brees and Brady are 3 of the top 5 QBs for passing yds, Johnson and Moss are 2 of the top 5 WRs. Steve Smith and T.O. are amongst the best WR in this decade and White and Colston are two of the top young recievers... If he shuts down Manning and Wayne thats 4/5 of the top QBs and 3/5 of the top WRs (considering one is Welker and Revis can't be on two guys at the same time).
It takes more than one person to shut down a WR for an entire game. Even f'n Revis gets help. Despite your claims, he's not Jesus.
This is the same guy that said he would trade all of his SB rings for a perfect season.... so... yeah.
It takes more then one person to shut down a WR for an entire game on 31 of the 32 teams, Revis does it himself. I'm assuming you haven't watched a Jet game all year, just wait til Sunday, Revis will be Man coverage with Wayne the whole time.
Just wait until Sunday when Reggie Wayne crucifies Revis one play at a time all the while Peyton will methodically use his fetus-head to, once again, out-wit and out-play his mere mortal opponents and end any hope the Jets had of making the playoffs. At least you won't be a one-and-done this year...
Revis has proved his worth week in and week out.....constantly shutting down the Elite wideouts of the NFL. Your post is nothing more than a bad case of internet herpes.
