Plus they had 3 more days to rest so everyone is back and healthy.

Caldwell said the mind-set is to not play someone only if he has a nagging injury... otherwise he is in.

"Wrong" in your world. People are entitled to opinions, whether or not you think they are "wrong," just remember that.

Furthermore, I don't know where you draw your assumptions about me. I was an avid Jets fan while your were still sucking on a binky, so get off it already about what you think is "wrong" with my opinions.

This is getting too personal now, so I will disengage. But by all means, feel free to rant on about what you think is "wrong" with everyone else's opinions.

Yeah, I hear you. This is a serious test of our team. I just want the Jets to play well and hold their head up high either way. If we win, that's great, but I'm not going to go into my usual fetal position over this one either.

The Jets can use this game to show each other that they're capable of playing a team like the Colts and use that to carry over into next year. A lot of good can come from this game even in a loss. (My God, did I actually say that?) LOL

youve beena fan long enough to know that moral victories are complete bullshit. Do you really think these guys will come to training camp next year and say "hey guys, remember when we played really well against the colts that time". C'mon, season ends and they all go home. Next spring all they want to do is get camp done with, bitching and moaning about it everyday.

None of that is unforeseeable. A lot of moving pieces for one week, though.

    Its more like this:
    1. Jets must beat Colts/Bengals
    2. Jaguars must lose to the Patriots or Browns
    3. Dolphins must lose to Texans or Steelers
    4. Ravens can lose to either Steelers or Raiders OR Broncos lose to Eagles or Chiefs.

This guy made it look too hard.

sorry the true dark sider in me has won the inner tug of war

rest assured.....in order to make this as painful as possible, all of the above will transpire, the Jet will miraculously beat the Colts.........then follow it up with gut punching loss to the Bengals at home to be eliminated.

    Actually, to be completely correct:

    Scenario 1:

    1. Jets must beat Colts and Bengals
    2. Dolphins must lose to Texans or Steelers.
    3. two of three lose: Jaguars, Broncos, Ravens (can be substituted with Bengals)

    Scenario 2:

    Dolphins win out

    Jets must win out
    Jaguars must lose
    Titans must lose
    Broncos must lose 2
    Ravens must lose 2

Scenario 1 is much more likely, so cheer for the phins to lose, ppl!

I actually think it will be the other way around. Loss to the Colts, win to finish out the season against the Bengals.

    8-8. Like I expected.

BTW, the Dolphins MUST lose. If they won 2 then the whole thing means nothing.

then we just need 2 of BAL DEN JAX to lose one game.

I bet all of that happens next week.

    BAL will lose @ PIT
    DEN lose @ PHI
    JAX lose @ NE
    MIA lose vs HOU

Jets beat COLTS! YES! Destiny in own hands, win and in! Bengals playing all backups! Jets are goin to the playoffs! YEAH! BUt they lose to the backups of the Bengalshahaha

Even if we beat the Falcons we would have had to beat the Colts and Bengals. Now we need some help but the help will come, the hard part is still beating the Colts and Bengals.

The loss to the Falcons wasn't as crushing as some are making it out to be.

The only reason the Jets have been in position to be winning the 10-11 games this season is because the defense has given up an average of less than 13 points. The defense has allowed us to win games where our offense has been less than stellar. Yes, it does suck that the defense hasn't been able to put every game away. By my count they are two out of five in not allowing the team to come back with less than a few minutes left to go in the game (NE and Buffalo - yes; JAX, Miami, and Atlanta - no). You can say that the defense failed at the end of this game but up until that point they had pitched a shutout (except for the FG that was the result of the Falcons getting an INT).

Look I'm not saying that Sanchez sucks (he's a rookie and people need to expect a lot of INT's), but his performance this season has been the single biggest factor in the Jets not having a better record. Twenty 21 interceptions in about 12.5 games have made it very difficult to overcome. I'm hoping that he can dramatically improve next year, because the QB has to perform better to have a championship caliber team. Less than twenty points a game of offense (net average of less than 17 points a game if you account for the return TD's) isn't the stuff of SB caliber offenses. While the defense can get better at closing games out do you really think that they will be that much better statistically (either in yards allowed or points allowed)? I mean how much lower than 12.25 points a game (the Jets current average) do you expect a team to give up.
