Why do we have a tiebreaker against the Broncos if we finish with the same record? Oh ok I get it. We both played Cinci, Oakland, New England, Indianapolis. Out of 5 games (Jets had 2 vs NE, Broncos had 2 vs OAK) we won (if we win-out) 4/5 and they won 3/5. Am I calculating it right?
Bottom line: Miami loses to either Houston or Pittsburgh Jacksonville loses to either NE or Cleveland and either Denver or Baltimore lose one more game while we win out we're in
Wow, you look at everything with the glass half full dont you? Today could be a meaningless loss? WTF? Damn I just wish I could see things through your eyes. I guess I should get my pro bowl tickets and catch Mark Sanchez one last time before the season ends. Anyways, on a serious note. I have had enough of you for one day, please stop.
Don't think so... if the Ravens loose one more why should we be in? Miami, Jax and Denver have to loose one more... we moove ahead of the Ravens only if they loose 2 right?
I'm pissed this thread isn't closed. We found out today that we don't belong in the playoffs and that Indy is probably going to piss all over us.
I was messing around with the generator and I believe this is correct..I guess if Denver loses once and we win out we own the tiebreaker over them..What I don't understand is if Denver wins out and Baltimore wins one game and the rest happens (Jets win, fins and jags each lose one) how do we own the tiebreaker over the Ravens?
Don't blame me because you are too irrational to see the reality of the situation. Yes this game could be meaningless when all is said and done. Our playoff hopes hinge on beating Indy and cincy which would have been the case regardless of the outcome today.
If Pittsburgh's route to the playoffs is the same as ours except they need the Jets to lose a game, then I would feel pretty good as the defending champs.
i think it has something to do with afc wins, we lost to the falcons today so that doesnt affect our conference record
I wouldn't. We'll probably lose a game, but they need to take both and have several other losses happen. Unlikely. The advantage for them is that they play Baltimore and Miami, so two wins by them also really damages those two.
Did you watch the Super Bowl XL season? Things fall Pittsburgh's way for some reason. I don't know what they need to get in though.
Actually Baltimore has to lose to Pittsburgh if Denver wins out. Then we own the tiebreaker over them based on wins over Cincy and Indy. So technically any loss by Denver or a loss to Pitt by Baltimore.
I sure did. The Indy game was wild, and there was something very fishy about the Super Bowl officiating. While Pittsburgh still has a chance, there's a slim one. I know I'd bet against them making the playoffs.
Fishy aka rigged. But yeah I agree. And I agree them making the playoffs is very unlikely with needing a win vs. Baltimore and at Miami, plus a bunch of teams losing. I was just saying all the stuff the Jets need to happen probably will, except for them actually winning. If Pittsburgh needed the same stuff as the Jets, plus the Jets losing, I could see it happen.
Pittsburgh in the hunt is huge for us as they can take out Miami and Baltimore. As completely disappointing as today was, last two weeks could still be exciting.
