once again our "amazing" defense cant handle important games and important times in the game. as much as they have helped us this season they have hurt us even more. uncalled for miscues on special teams.
You have to score points to win games. What is the defense supposed to shut out every team? If Sanchez didn't throw the INT at the beginning of the game. That first field goal from ATL never happens and at worst you have a tie.
Our amazing defense held them to one TD and 10 points. Why not look to the QB who threw another 3 picks today. Our offense has been costing us games all season by not protecting the ball and this one is no different.
Or if the Jets don't fuck up 3 field goals they win. Or if Donald Strickland does a better job in coverage we win. Or if someone mentions "hey, don't forget about the first ballot hall of famer in the end zone" we win. It's a team sport. Trying to single out one person to blame (an activity which this board is oddly obsessed with) is pointless.
The defense was great today, up until the final drive the only 3 points Atlanta had was when they got a short field. The one thing I can't understand is the one big play on that drive. What was Revis doing away from White?? of course they are going to White on that drive. They go into a zone, result, White gets a 16 yr catch and a 15 yard penalty, without that play the Jets win
guys, it wasn't the defense (but they choked on that last play), it wasn't the O (but Mark's interceptions are really starting to wear thin), this one was 100% special teams. At worst we were going to OT....how can you fuck up THREE FGs from within 40 yards????
the great Revis came from off the screen to break that play up, yes a pick would have been nice, but if we stopped them on 4th down we'd all be praising him for that play
