I posted the video to show that he didn't constantly draw double teams, if he rarely make impact plays and he rarely draw double teams, what exactly is he contributing?
When Lawrence Marsh was injured AFTER the Tennessee game, the Gators switched to a three man front on the defensive line. Dunlap consistently drew double teams and his play allowed guys like Brandon Spikes, Justin Trattou, Dustin Doe, and Jermaine Cunningham to make plays.
Look at what I posted on the previous page, it goes play by play through that video. After a while Tenn realized that even using two guys on him wasn't working, and starting just using misdirection to keep plays away from him. Anything even close to his side of the field was pretty much shut down, if not by him, by a free teammate that his presence basically allowed for.
Would you expect more? DUI = no prison time for most. No one else was hurt. Its not as if he was charged with assult or something else. Meyer needs Dunlap this game as bad as Dunlap needs to play.Carlos needs to have a huge game and prove that he is worth a top ten ranking. Keeping him out could cost him millions of dollars. That punishment does not fit his crime.
Dunlap=nasty CARLOS DUNLAP IS A MONSTER, If he falls to us at say 18 we should give him a serious look, he is a top 5 talent and is proven unlike gholston, him and shaun ellis will make our defense that much better esp in the pass rush, DRAFT DUNLAP!
I'm not the biggest Dunlap fan, but I wouldn't call him overrated, at least anymore after the off field shit. Dunlap is either going to be a monster in the NFL or Bust...it's all up to Carlos if he's willing to be forth the effort. One of the most physically gifted players since Super Mario...it's up to Carlos to make good on his talent. The NFL is all about production!!!
Staying in the NFL is all about production. Unfortunately, the NFL draft is all about potential, and some times combine workouts. This is a kid that will shine at the combine. I don't see how he can be called overrated, especially if he goes anywhere between 10-20 in the first round.
Easy...he's one of the most talented players in this draft but he's basically Gaines Adams without a 4th year of school. Just a soft dude...one guy I do not want to touch unless he falls to the 2nd or something.
No arguement, I agree. I don't think Dunlap is overrated...where he will be drafted in Mid to late rd 1. You're looking at a big risk/reward for Dunlap...based on potential. Just understand...that Dunlap may fail just like some other Combine workout warriors, you know that better than anyone.
