Head injuries are a strange and scary thing. You can die just tripping over your feet while walking and landing on your head awkwardly...there have been many stories of young teens dying while "ghost riding", and those accidents typically are in the 5~15 mph range... As for what she was thinking, like others have said we don't know the whole story. She might have been going slowly so when he fell she might have assumed that he'd be ok, or she might have even seen him sit up through her rear view mirror and figured she was ok to take off. It's a sad story regardless of who, if anyone, is to blame. Rarely do people tun their lives around without some small hiccups, but usually those people are allowed to move forward on their path. This is a truly sad story
Tis' true. I was ghostriding on my friends Jeep while he was driving and when he took a turn at about 5 mph, I had nothing to hold on to, jumped off and hit the pavement. Woke up a few seconds after hitting the ground and had no idea where I was.. for a fall that didn't seem so harsh. Cuts everywhere and a banged up head. Young and stupid.
I don't understand the, "This Sucks" "What a shame" comments. This guy was a fucking idiot. You do something stupid, you pay with your life.
Well maybe so but you have to say a prayer for those, even if it is only a few, that were positively impacted by this persons existence and are now left to mourn. jil
I don't think anyone here is saying he is smart for what he did. Jumping into the back of the truck was a "heat of the moment" type reaction from what I have read so far. One's actions doesn't make it any less shitty. A life cut short, that is all. But you keep on blasting I guess.
My friend wrote WTF Chris Henry....I mean RIP Chris Henry as his facebook status. Pretty cold. I feel bad for the guy. RIP. Sad story for him/his family and kids.
Sad. I took stupid chances in cars when I was young. I even remember jumping out of a boat that was going probably 25-30 mph on a lake, while drunk, while someone was waterskiing behind it. If I had gotten hit with the ski, I'm sure I would be dead now.
right, because no one else has ever done "something stupid" in their life. In fact, without knowing 99.9999999999999% of people alive today, I can STILL safely guarantee that 100% of them have done something that someone else would consider "stupid". Should we all pay for it with our lives? Why don't we all just wear dynamite strapped to our bodies and trigger it with a moral compass, that way whenever we do something stupid, we get our just deserves....
I should have been more specific than "something stupid" because, of course, we are all fallable. His past behavior in drugs and other arrests demonstrate he is an impulsive person. He should have been getting treatment for this and the situation could have been avoided. I don't feel sorry or any remorse for him.
In 2004, my freshman year at WVU, chris henry aka slim came to my dorm room to sell me weed, he stole $45 from me instead....karma???
