Good points, all. But you forgot to mention our ticket takers are jackasses, and that the guys who sweep the lockeroom leave dust bunnies every once in a while. The incompetence of the organization is endless, which you have rightly noted.

People have addressed 1-4 pretty well. On #5, I'd say that Patrick Ramsey isn't too young. And I wouldn't be suprised if hes starting over Penny. On #6 I'm betting that Ellis comes back refocused and has a good season. Alot of the rush will come from 'backers and I think that Barton has the chance to generate some sack numbers.

I disagree with everything your saying you are a true pessimist. I believe that the Jets have as good a chance as any team in the NFL. That's the parity of this league. We see it year in and year out with teams like San Diego, Cincy, Miami. I'm not worried about the loss of Abraham because we won games with out his help in 2004. I am more concerned about our new defensive scheme and us being able to stop the run. Our offense is only getting better, I see us getting back to 2004 form. Bradway killed us when he let Kareem McKenzie, Lamont Jordan and Anthony Becht go. As bad as Becht was at catching the ball he was an excellent run blocker. You can look at Curtis's performance last year and know that he missed running behind McKenzie and Becht. I think we are heading in the right direction, we may not go to the playoffs this year, but I don't think we're as far away as you think.

Yea, I agree this is a crybaby post, especially from the "#1 Jets Fan". I'd hate to hear what the #234,446 Jets Fan would say.

With fans like this, who needs enemies!

Truer still that our prophet can predict almost anything incorrectly. His record of wildly missing is, to date, unblemished. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that our boy is the fifth dentist.

All I have to say is that Abe was offered a deal way back when and he turned his nose up at it...Did you not catch that?

Its very easy to claim the sky is falling but why? I am quite excited going into this year with our new regime. We are still rebuilding but with our positive draft, its very easy to remain optimistic. We filled some areas through free agency and it will be great to see our rookie OL players develop.
The QB position remains uncertain but we will just have to see what happens in camp. We will be employing new offensive and defensive schemes which should benefit our strengths. Have faith, we might surprise some people....

 I agree with everything you said JetFighter, but if I claim to be a "glass half empty angry man"... do you think you could arrange one of those women with warm breasts for me to snuggle with too?

Man, I live for threads like this. It's like a JETS fan's version of Tourette's - or the after effects of getting your head beat in with a rock. Hmmm, I forget what it's called, but often when people have brain surgery or head trauma, they look at pictures of objects and assign names that have no relation. A frustrating thing. A picture of an apple = bicycle. A picture of a mailbox = bird. A picture of a Superbowl Trophy = No chance in hell.

Do all you darksiders remember that Chad Pennington and Laverneous Coles go together like milk & cookies.

If CP starts the year and plays all 16 games, Coles is looking at a 70-100 catch season. Write it down, take a picture, like George Forman & Minekee I guarantee it.

I find this post to be pretty confusing, but I think you're trying to say that it will take many years before Mangini becomes a good coach, and you don't have the patience needed to wait.
I do agree somewhat, but there are also coaches who are successful fairly quickly, i.e. Jon Gruden, Jim Mora Jr...and even if it does take Mangini a while, I'm willing to wait.

Cause the deal wasnt good enough for at the time a 2 time pro bowler who was only 26 and had 33 sacks over 4 seasons.
Why wouldnt he wanna be paid what he was worth you would too. Too bad the FO kept stalling to sign him to a deal and finally he got fed up with it and had to leave.

    "cause"? Where's the effect?

Read that back again, 33 sacks over FOUR seasons. For someone of his ability level, and given your blowjob of a thread, I would have hoped for alot more in the way of a logical argument. The offer put on the table was more than generous and Ellis recognized it. Ellis was the smart guy and is laughing all the way to the bank

The front office recognized Abe for what he really was- a one trick pony who couldn't hold up his end of the deal, and do so consistently. Injury prone, lightweight, me-first players weren't really what this team needed...

I will bet up to $1000 max. I will bet that the Jets will not win more then 6 games this coming season. It don't have to be the whole $1000, if you want a piece of it let me know how much. The only kick back is who ever loses must donate there money to theganggreen.com. Any takers?

Because in the absence of any evidence he'll be a weakness I choose to view him as not a weakness. That's called seeing things as they are. I'll moderate that view if I see evidence that he's a weakness.

You'll note that I have said nothing at all about whether he'll be a strength of the 2006 Jets. That's because I have no evidence one way or the other to make that statement.

You listed him as the #1, #2 weaknesses of the 2006 Jets. That's an amazingly ignorant view of the situation because you have no idea at all if he's actually going to be a weakness.

Wow, you're really going out on a limb there predicting a team in rebuilding mode isn't going to perform well. I guess maybe you think you have to be right about SOMETHING. Right, Mo?

I'm almost enthusiastic about this upcoming season just because this dude has such a record of inaccuracy that I think they're talking about adding his posts to the Farmer's Almanac.
