How can you be a Head Coach when you don't effectively game plan against opponents weaknesses?

All last year every game, if they team had a low rated pass defense, we'd run the ball all day. If they were terrible against the run, we'd pass 50 times. We never ever attack teams weakness and address our strengths.

We are an exceptional running football team, but we very rarely play to that strength. If he is coordinating this offense he takes responsibility for the areas that we attack, and we always play to our opponents strengths, Not our own. We don't dictate our will to the opponent. Instead we pussy around and usually attack where they are strong. It is ridiculous.

How can a guy - who was a ball boy 10 years ago and a DC for the 26th ranked defense for his only season as a coordinator - be a head coach? How can a guy with zero coordinator experience be a head coach?

If you really want to get technical, Schotty has far better credentials than Eric Mangini, Jim Zorn, Raheem Morris or Herm Edwards had when they got their shot. Plus, he has a lifetime of being the son of Marty Schottenheimer to add to his pedigree.

Yeah I don't think he would get a HC job next year because of all the big name guys that our out there, but weirder things have happened. Should be interesting to see how it all plays out

Schotty could get a HC job for a team that consistently fucks things up.

He needs to go somewhere with an established QB and get the fuck away from Sanchez. High percentage throws Cutesy, learn what they are.

The HC has to come in and integrate a "color coding system" into the offense because you can't do your job correctly. Its not just for Sanchez's ball security, its for Cutesy too. No huddle spread formation at the 1 yard line, which burns a timeout. And 35 passes in the Seattle snow.... how the fuck do you keep your job?

Childress just signed an extension. His team is a Super Bowl favorite.

I don't think Seattle's doing bad enough to warrant getting rid of Mora after 1 year.

This gets my vote for post of the year. It sums up in a few paragraphs why the Jets are not a playoff team and why Sanchez has not improved. If the Jets play the middle of the schedule like they played yesterday - run, play defense, and protect the QB - they are 8-5 or 9-4 and have a confident rookie QB. This season's failures are all on Schotty, IMO.

Schotty has as much chance getting a HC job this offseason as I do.

    rethink your list.

Jacksonville, Minnesota, and Seattle will not being firing their coaches. John Fox being fired is a possibility, but a long shot, so take Carolina off for now. But you don't put Cleveland on? With your logic, they belong there.

dude...Minnesota gave Childress an extension a few weeks ago.....

Most of the teams you listed are valid...but Minny is not one of them.

Minny will need a new coach after the team implodes in the playoffs and Favre ands Childress go through with their suicide pact.

He'll be fired as soon as he tries to replace the Wing-T with the Two Tight End Spread.

Perhaps someone will be so lucky as to inherit his flag football playbook.

So who do you guys think should be the next scapegoat, er I mean OC? Maybe Paul Hackett will be available? He seems the perfect choice for the offense most of you guys want to run.
