I doubt anyone is saying that we should have taken freeman over sanchez anymore. Clearly sanchez so far has been better (aside from all the INTs).
in 6 starts, Freeman has 13 INTs. so he'd have 26 if he started 12 games like sanchez. that's frighteningly bad.
He plays for the Bucs. They're god awful. The Jets are a 11-2, 10-3 football team with a good QB. Sanchez was still the better choice though. But you have to take that into consideration
You also have to take into consideration as to who is throwing in the more difficult weather/stadiums. Sanchez doesn't throw in the sunny stadium that Freeman does, he has one of the more difficult locations to play in for half/ 3/4 of his games.
I certainly felt for the young fella- I wish Mark could've played against that defense, would've been a big confidence builder.
I think Both Freeman and Sanchez can be very good if not special Qb's. I do think however that Sanchez has superior Leadership skills and doesn't seem to get as down on himself as Freeman does. leadership is an extremely important part of playing QB in this league.
Freeman is clearly not ready for the pro game atm, he has a big arm and decent-above average athleticism but he has no feel for the pro game and he wasn't exactly tearing it up in college was he?
Being in a pro program might help him as a starter. That team has a few more problems than Josh Freeman.
I still can't believe that team beat Green Bay, that is freakin amazing. My how they have fallen, they were 9-3 at one point last season. Ended up 9-7 but still, 9-7 to 1-15. ouch!!
Morris fired his OC and DC this season (the OC before the season even began).....at this point, he's more inept than Mangini.....he should be 1 and done, IMO.
