The percentages as in most cases will depend on the score. If the Jets are ahead and the running game is working, we probably won't see many pass attempts.

Having said that it will be interesting to see the mix in the first quarter, and how TB's D approaches the game. Nine in the box? Can the Jets still run it?

But the Jets have been willing to have Sanchez throw the ball in the first quarter, too, and despite all the Marky Love here, he's been pretty mediocre for the most part.

So, I think you may be right, depending on the score, of course. As always.

Everyone does realize that we are 29th in pass yards per game and sanchez is 4th to last in INT's. I know hes our future and i am glad, but everyone is acting like we are going from a pro bowler to a high school kid. Clemens can't do any worse than sanchez has done some games

but, if he does and thows 3 picks and has a fumble that gets turned over in the backfield, we will lose, and our season, as far as playoffs, is realistically over.

I agree. Obviously Sanchez seems to have much more upside, but if you look at the snapshot of this week I don't see a big dropoff. I really think Clemens will have a good game, he knows he's playing and has the tools around him for a change. For that reason I think Rex did a smart thing by making the move Wednesday, diffusing any doubt and going forward, it's probably most condusive to winning this game.

I have stopped trying to predict what plays schotty will call. Its a mystery to me why he does what he does about 50% of the time. If TB puts 9 in the box KC should throw the ball.

I agree that they have let Marky throw it and he has been mediocre at best, however in order to develop you have to accept that mediocrity and sucking come w/that territory. KC is another situation. He has some experience. He just may not have the talent level to play in the NFL. I think he probably does have NFL talent, but he hasn't shown it consistently. Sunday is a great opportunity for KC and the Jets - lets hope our guys have a great game. I think they will give KC the chance to mix it up and move the chains. I would like to see him air it out to BE. He has a gun, let him use it.

So what is your solution? Hide under the covers and refuse to throw the ball at all or take any risks whatsoever because a turnover might happen? That is the recipe for FAILURE.

We need to go out there and play our best game of the season. Smashmouth Football, then go up top for big plays down the field, back to smashmouth. And a dominating defensive performance. We cannot afford to go out there with a conservative game plan and let TB hang around. FRUK IT. THROW THE BALL DOWN THE FIELD. BOMBS AWAY.

Despite having won two games, I don't really think the Jets had a REALISTIC shot at a playoff berth.

If the Jets somehow lose this game I am sure some (many?) here will blame Rex for not playing Sanchez, and say that (and that alone) killed the Jets' playoff hopes.

    That would be inaccurate.

I agree. I will also say that if Clemens is not playing well after the 1st quarter and we are down 3-14 we absolutely have to put in Ainge or Smith; I don;t care which one.

But, I do agree, we are where we are in this season because of a collection of mistakes on Sanchez, on our D, on ST, coaching at times, and to a degree injuries.

Well not Bombs away, but I do agree we do have to throw when the situation permits, and that does not mean always on 3rd down. We have to throw on 1st and 2nd once in a while or we become predictable. We do have to rely heavily on the run, though. That is our bread and butter, and we are going up against the #31 team against the run.

We have to effectively use the personnel we have. We could try a couple of end arounds, some screens to either Greene or TJ, Smith throwing the option deep or mid-range, but, yes, we have to let Clemens try to throw on high percentage throws over the middle or 5 - 10 yard outs. I do not think that Clemens has to throw the long ball for us to win this one.

Personally, I would opt for Ainge if things start to get dicey.

While I completely agree with those who would prefer to see the Jets run the ball, and do so successfully, the way TB's D approaches the game will of course go into the mix. Say what else you want about Clemens, he has a decent arm and can get it down the field.

If the situation dictates I certainly hope the Jets will take advantage of it.

And Sanchez would somehow guarantee a win if he was playing? Jets fans are morons.

I never have questioned Clemens' arm strength; the only thing I have noticed is he really gets "deer-eyed" and "scared-like" when the pocket starts collapsing and that is when all the bad stuff happens.

If you think Clemens gives us an equal chance to win as Sanchez does then God help you.

I would laugh my ass off if Clemens starts the rest of the year and wins out.

That would be pretty darn funny. Not to mention if they managed to then run the table and win the AFC championship...
