Looks like I'm due to change my username again. Good riddance at this point though, I was really impressed with his play in his first couple of seasons and thought he had the makings of an all pro. Such a shame that his "Hollywood" mentality got to his head to the point where he thinks he's the best in the league when right now he'd have trouble starting on most teams. Hopefully we can give to him to Mangini for a Shaun Rodgers and some picks.

The Jets have to pay the roster bonus if they trade Rhodes. It accelerates at the moment of the trade and they have to pay it. They can cut him and not pay it.

What this means is that the Jets will be paying about 40% of his total 2010 compensation ( the 2 million dollar roster bonus) if they trade him. The team acquiring him will be on the hook for the 2.78 million only. I believe the workout bonus will be paid by the acquiring team assuming that Rhodes earns it as it comes due.

I would vastly prefer that the Jets trade Rhodes, hopefully to an NFC team, if they decide to part ways with him. I'd like them to get back something for him, and he'll be worth a 3rd round pick or so, and I'd very much like him not to wind up in New England with a fire lit under his ass helping Belichik sort things out on that side of the ball.

Agreed on both points. Trade him out of the AFC for at least a 3rd rounder. Eat the money in the uncapped season. No muss, no fuss.

He's a big baby. Rex should of kept him mouth shut from the beginning ,trying to sooth pretty boy, and just played Eric Smith for the rest of the year and trade Rhodes for a 4 or 5. He's done and now disruptive

I see this all as a good thing. Now he needs to transfer that frustration into the game and hit somebody. He doesn't need to make an interception, sack, or force a fumble on every play, but when he ducks away from hits and gives up extra yards it pisses me off.

He needs to find some motivation and play balls to the wall. Those calling for a trade and his head are a little premature, though. He's too good to simply ship off and waste a high draft pick replacing. Make the boy angry and give him something to prove.

    And Twitter has to go.

i can't see him in green next year unless he makes a transformation. he needs a change of scenery.

and since that's the case, rex might as well play him because his current value is at an all-time low. if he rides the bench, it gets even lower, but if he plays and shows a spark or makes a few impact plays before year's end, hopefully he'll whip up a market for himself.

He can come out and proclaim rex ryan as the antichrist for all I care. Just knock opponents on their butts and don't give up points. Whatever he wants to tweet on or jibber jabber about is okay if he is kicking butt.

No, it's not okay for him to run his bitch mouth. Rhodes is one false move away from becoming a locker room cancer.

You can't call out any coach on the roster and he definitely can't make smart ass remarks about the head coach. Rhodes is talking his way out of New York.

Man, what happened to this guy? He used to be one of my favorite players. He wasn't totally immature and was a great player. Now he's a jerk who sucks. It's a shame.

Thats fine too. As long as he knocks the crap out of people and prevents opponents from scoring. The problem with him is that he plays like a pussy and he used to be good. If he was kicking the crap out of opponents we'd all be much more tolerant of his schtick. He isn't and we aren't.

Abram Elam wouldve fit better in this scheme than Rhodes.

Elam like Smith is sometimes a liability in coverage, but they both hit harder than crack.

Bye, bye Kerry....damn!!...I just purchased this assholes jersey last year when he seemed to be a football player. Now he's just a wannabe hollywood dickbag. Ryan wants "football" players who eat, sleep, and shit the game. Guys who go balls out every play and always put a hat on someone. Guys like E. Smith...Westermann

Call Al Davis. He'll gladly give us more than Kerry is worth. Offer him Kerry and a 5th rounder for Seymour. He's been hooking the Pats up for the past few years. He mine as well help us out for a change.

If not Al I'm sure Mangini would take him. I just hope he ends up on a shit team.

We all love RYAN but I would luv him even MORE if he just plain came out and said Kerry is benched! Or Better yet not even dress him for this weeks game! Can you imagine a player saying this crap to Parcells? Bill would tell him " you aint here to like me, you are here to play football" or "If Kerry wants to start he better start playing like a starter" this is unreal --Rhodes is a cancer and needs to go--he is saying all the wrong things especially in print, god knows what he is saying in the locker room! Stop babying this guy and just sit his ass! If he keeps yapping then don't even dress him! You think it will make that much of a difference with him on the field? He has sucked all year and is a liabilaty out there--let ERIC Smith and anyone else play and sit SHERRY RHODES--enough already!

I'm shocked at Rhodes' behavior. I thought he was more professional than this... don't quite know why I thought that, but apparently I was wrong. I think that's the whole shocker here for everyone... the way he's handling the challenge.

Ryan said earlier in the week that he wants this to "play out," meaning, I think, that he's going to jolly well do whatever he wants to do with whatever "starter" he wants to do it with. And Rhodes apparently can't handle that. Well, guess what, Kerry, Ryan can do whatever TF he wants to do, he's the HC.

This guy is signing his own career death warrant. A couple of wake-up, ball-hawking INTs and right away he should be in the HOF and the Jets should be retiring his number.
