Not that it's a surprise to many, and I could have posted this in a Rhodes thread, but the stuff he says in this article is worth it's own thread. Rhodes yells at coach in practice By Rich Cimini The Kerry Rhodes soap opera took another twist today. Rhodes, who apparently has regained his starting job after two games coming off the bench, admitted to reporters today that he yelled at secondary coach Dennis Thurman in practice. Clearly, Rhodes, who initially was miffed by the demotion, is irked by the uncertainty surrounding his role. Rex Ryan is playing it coy, refusing to say that Rhodes has regained his starting job. But Rhodes is saying he has been told he'll be back with the starters. But, in practice, he apparently has been rotating with Eric Smith, leading to today's heated moment. Asked if there's a rift between him and Thurman, Rhodes said, "Me and D.T. No, not right now. Today I was a little mad." Why? "Just the in-and-out thing," Rhodes said. "It got to me a little today. I was a little more emotional. I felt a little way about it today." Rhodes said he's having trouble adjusting to the rotation. "You can't get into a flow that way, especially me," he said. "I've never done that, so it's kind of different." Asked about his role in general, Rhodes said, "It's funny ... kind of. It's irritating ... kind of. But it's something I have to deal with. I can't just not show up and not be here ... After the year, we'll re-evaluate things then." Rhodes said his relationship with Ryan is fine, but it wasn't an enthusiastic endorsement of his coach. "Hmm, let's see how I can characterize it," he said, pausing for a few moments. "I still like Rex. Yeah, I still like Rex." Told it wasn't convincing, Rhodes, "You heard the words out of my mouth. I said, 'I still like Rex.'" Ryan grew testy yesterday when asked if Rhodes had regained his starting job. Today, he apologized to the media, joking that Damien Woody would start at tackle. He can make light of it, but the bottom line is, his high-priced safety is not happy. Not at all.
The dude is garbage...been saying it all year. Football is not his top priority and now he's pouting at being rightfully reprimanded. Fuck 'im.
He is still living in the game where he left the stadium with two picks under his belt.. he really needs to realize he's not gettin shit done on the field.. I can understand why he is gettin frustrated.. constantly being rotated after being told, allegedly, that he was starting.. it would piss anyone off.. but he has been productive enough to be talkin like this..
Kerry Rohodes either sucks or has quit on the team. Neither one is good. Time for this ass-clown to leave.
i wish Rex Ryan would make another call to all season ticket holders.... - if you see kerry rhodes on the street, spit in his face
Man, I still keep holding hope that Rhodes will turn things around for himself, but it's getting harder and harder to support this guy. If he doesn't improve by the end of the year, when they "evaluate" him, send him to St. Louis. Let him "evaluate" that.
He's gone nowhere but downhill since we talked of his shortcomings after the first Miami game. The evaluation is simple. We shouldn't be paying a 3mil/year backup safety like one of the top 5 guys in the league. Buh-bye.
Let's be done with this goof once and for all....draft Eric Berry and that's it, bye bye Kerry....go be an underperformer somewhere else. This guy couldn't even clean Troy Polamalu's underwear. I'm glad the Vaynerdouche's and their wonderful business sense picked Kerry Rhodes to try and get themselves into the Jets locker roon circle jerk they both fantasize about. It's probably the circle jerks at VaynerMedia HQ that has Kerry's head in the wrong place on gameday and have him turning bitch on us.
I'm a little worried that if Kerry leaves, whether willingly or not; his boyfriend's butt is going to hurt. His boyfriend being Braylon Edwards. They're boys, and the last thing we need to Edwards creating an off-season fit similar to what Coles did when Pennington left.
I'm glad that he's mad he's not playing full time. I'm sure Rex was hoping that it would make him mad. His whiny bitch act needs to go though, that's clearly not the way he wanted Kerry to handle being mad. I'm sure it will be addressed by Rex.
Clearly, he's not long for this team. What do you think we can get for him in the offseason? A 3rd rounder? Or a 4th? Maybe a 5th?
