WHAT DO YOU MEAN HOW?? Is this really that hard to imagine..

Jets beats TB, ATL, CIN, lose IND (9,7)
Jax loses MIA, NE, IND, beats CLE (8,8)
MIA beats JAX, PITT loses HOU, TENN (8,8)
PITT beats CLE and BAL, loses MIA GB (8,8)
BAL beats OAK and DET, loses CHI PITT (8,8)

THERE YOU GO!!! This is what we need to happen over the next few weeks to make in into the WC without beating IND... kk??.. so for anyone wondering who to root for.. here is your guide..

Well yea... the Jets also has a chance to get the playoffs with a 8-8 record. Everyone just has to lose their remaining games. Come on man, look at all the stuff that has to happen! All it takes is one miss for the Jets to get eliminated. Chicago vs. Baltimore? Baltimore vs. Pitt? Miami vs. Houston? Miami vs. Tennessee? Miami vs. Pittsburgh? Pittsburgh vs. Green Bay? The chances of all those games going the Jets way is almost impossible. I'm not even sure if half will go the Jets way.

The most likely way for the Jets to make the playoffs is through a 10-6 record. A Jags win against Miami and a lose to Indy will set up a important game against with the Pats. It sets up a win-win situation for the Jets where if we do our part and the Ravens loses 1 game, will are playoff bound.

Listen, all I'm saying is that there is a chance.. this is the simplest way we get into the playoffs because we dont have to beat the colts.. i don't think any of the games call for a win by an obvious underdog.. we jsut gotta take it week by week i guess..

I'm looking at this scenario even more today.. and if this happens it will be a miracle (..and much much more).

-You think Miami will beat the Jags and then lose to the Titans and Houston(@ home) and then beat Pittsburgh when their season is over already?
-You think Pittsburgh will lose to Green Bay and then beat the Ravens... and then lose to Miami?
-You think Baltimore will lose to Chicago at home?

If you go Vegas and put in this bet as a parlay, along with Miami beating Jags(Miami underdogs, as is most of the teams you want to win in your scenario)... you'll be very rich.

With that said, we have to take it a week at a time. If the Jets don't go win out, then the season is pretty much over.

I know there is a chance that happens (anything can happen) but my opinion, and the prevaling opinion around here, is that this year you make the playoffs with 10 wins.

So let's focus on getting to the last 2 games with W after W and then we'll talk about it.

Tie...that puts Miami out and then Jax only has to lose one more or tie one more...wishful thinking.

considering those games are independent events, and the outcome of one has no bearing on the outcome of the others, the odds of winning and losing any game is always 50/50, so there is no reason to believe that Miami can't lose to Tennessee and still beat Pittsburgh, or any of those teams can win a certain game but lose another. not to mention it is just asinine to claim that a team who can't make the playoffs will be indifferent about the outcome of the last game of their season, and thus are less competitive because their season is over. in case you haven't noticed, the history of the NFL disproves that position very easily, as many teams not only win the last game of their season even though they don't make the playoffs, but beat teams that are playing for a playoff spot, so there just is no relevance to that element.

The odds of winning and losing any game is always 50/50..... LOL try telling that to Vegas. I'm not saying that IT CAN'T HAPPEN but its extremely not likely, the odds are heavily against us. Its crazy to say but even if those games are 50/50... how many times can you flip a coin and it lands on the same side in a row? THAT is 50/50. NOW imagine with odds less than 50/50.

of course the odds are against us, but not mystical forces that prevent a team from losing one week but winning the next, or indifference about winning if they aren't going to the playoffs. that's a ridiculous notion. most players are professionals who hate to lose, they prefer to win, especially considering it is their last chance to play for months. you'd rather win than lose going out.
