How much pocket presence do you expect a QB to have when the OL misses their assignments? Go back and watch the video. Those sacks were not all on KC. I am a former OL and I love our OL. But DBrick in particular was totally abused by Schoebel. 1 second, simple swim move - sack. That is not on the QB. The other 2 were 50/50 situations. I think KC had a disappointing performance, but if you go back and look at those plays you will see that it was hardly good work by the OL and that last one was an absolutely dreadful playcall by Schotty.
Ah yes Brick is the reason for Clemens sucking balls? So we should start Turner for Brick and Clemens for Sanchez? Funny thing is I didn't see Brick getting "abused" when Sanchez was in there. Schobel did squat that game......... Yeah that Clemens never gets a fair shot in 4 years, it always Brick or Shotty or Faneca or Pennington or Favre or Mangini or Adrian Clarke. I mean it is never Clemens fault. Thankfully after this year we will have to never deal with him (Clemens) again.
Yeah, its suddenly the QB's fault if Dbrick can't block his assignment. I love it when idiots fabricate straw man arguments that nobody is making to prove an irrelevant point. Everybody wants to blame KC for everything. The fact is he wasn't responsible for failed blocking assignments. That doesn't mean KC isn't responsible for playing poorly. But blaming the Qb for sacks when the OL doesn't block is about as stupid as it gets. And as for Schobel he had 5 tackles, 3 assists and a sack. You may call that doing squat, but its a better game than every Jet Defender except Ellis and Harris.
Dont even try to reason with that idiot Clemens hater. Sanchez can do no wrong and everything Clemens does is totally his fault. I guess he expected Clemens to pull a Mike Vick and outrun the defense or make an accurate pass when Schoebel is on his back 2 seconds after receiving the snap.
The Bills time of possession was 24:50, 41.4% of the game, which included 24 rushing attempts (including 5 QB scrambles), 3 drop-backs resulting in sacks, and 23 passing attempts, 9 of which were completed. 24 rushing attempts, 3 sacks, and 9 completions = 35 plays which ended in tackles and one touchdown which did not (not counting kick-offs and field goals). The Jets time of possession was 35:10, 58.6% of the game, which included called 43 rushing attempts (including 5 QB scrambles), 5 drop-backs resulting in sacks, and 17 called passing plays resulting in 8 completions. 43 rushing attempts, 5 sacks, and 8 completions = 56 plays which ended in tackles and one touchdown which did not (not counting kick-offs and field goals). Schobel's production in tackles, and that of the Bills' defense for that matter, was drastically inflated due to the Jets' offense being on the field for 10:50 longer than the Bills' offense. The Jets ran more rushing plays than the Bills ran total plays. Hand it to the Bills for not getting scored on more than they did, but the ability of the Jets to stay on the field, the play-calling of the Jets at the end of the game to run the ball time-after-time instead of pass, and the inept play of the Bills offense which kept the Bills' defense on the field, giving them more chances to make these tackles, Schobel included.
I agree with playing Clemens... it's his final shot at proving he can stay in the NFL against a bad team.
sec314 will never give up..he will have no choice when clemens is ridden out of town in about 6 weeks from now.
Only Two scenarios: Sanchez starts, does well, we win. -or- Sanchez starts BUT: 1- if he is ineffective due to his double knee braces or lack of practice time, or 2- if he does something stupid like throw a dumb pic or NOT slide then Rex WILL sit him and bring in KC for the remainder of the game. Either way, Sanchez will start. Wether or not he finishes is up to him.
My preference- 1) Sanchez 2) Ainge 3) Richard Simmons 4) A Steaming Lump of Dog Shit ... 999,999,999) Kellen Clemens
How sad is it that I appreciate Richard Simmons' body of work (helping fat people, sweating to the oldies, deal a meal) more than Vernon Gholston and Kellen Clemens combined?
i'd say give the start to Clemens if Sanchez isn't 80%. No sense in risking a prolonged injury against a poor team in Tampa. If Clemens can't get it done by half, then maybe you put in Sanchez. my 2cents
This type of injury is just about pain not getting worse. The only way he'll do further damage is by getting a new injury. At least that's the understanding of it when I was reading about the PCL sprain.
let's be realistic about sanchez what kind of mobility can sanchez have with braces on both knees.the jets have to win their remaining games in order to make the playoffs.I still think that a gamble with eric ainge will be the better choice.clemens looks shell shocked and has problems avoiding the rush.ainge has all the tools to succeed.I just have a gut feeling that ainge would be the right choice.
He'll be fine, these aren't braces from the 70's. His mobility will be okay as long as the pain is under control. They've already said he is ahead of schedule and Mark is feeling much less pain.
