Good lord....is this REALLY an argument?! The bottom line is Clemens is a pile of compost....he's Clueless in the pocket, throws INTs like they're the latest fad, and has two left feet.
It's a passing play! Who gives a shit what the statistics say? The goal of the play is "Drop back, throw ball, get first down." "Sacked for a loss" would be the opposite of the intended goal. "Sacked for a loss and fumbled" even more so.
How about this.. since we are play TB.. lets start Clemens.. (MB give me two more seconds before yellin at me) and then if we can't dominate with the run game.. we bring in sanchez.. i don't see why we can't do that.. I mean i know thats a no-no cause players like to know whether they will be playing.. and the mental preparation bullshit.. but seriously.. the last thing i want to see is sanchez destroy his knee and then none of the outcomes i have worked out end up working out any way.. and we miss the playoffs AND have an injured QB going into offseason...
I watched the entire game. So you are wrong again. Also I never said that 1 for 2 was the only thing I saw out of Clemens. So there again you are incorrect. I stated that his performance was disapointing. If you want to keep this up, feel free to do so. Nobody is saying KC played well. He didn't. In fact if MS isn't healthy enough to play I wouldn't mind seeing Ainge play however I presume that it will be KC and if it is I think he'll play much better than he showed against the Bills.
Are you seeing this Abdul? This sums it up nicely. Although if you need a more detailed opinion, keep reading: Goal of a QB on a passing play: Drop back, throw ball, complete pass. Actions of Kellen Clemens on 3/5 of his called passing plays: Drop back, utterly fucking fail. Get it?
Why would you assume that? The man trained for three and a half years before entering a game in the most favorable of circumstances. He utterly failed. What would lead you to believe that after three and a half years plus one week, the light will suddenly come on, in decidedly more difficult circumstances?
What's your platform here, man? If I entered the game at quarterback, dropped back 17 times, shit myself and ran out of bounds three times, got sacked 10 times, had a seizure twice, fumbled four times and completed a five yard dump off, would you look at "1-for-1" as anything but an irrelevant statistic?
CK what you are fail to apparently get is that I know what happened and you apparently don't know what happened since you insist on referring to non-passes as pass attempts. Clemens went 1 for 2 on pass attempts. FACT. Here are the sacks: Sack #1 was on DBrick completely who failed to block Schebel. FACT Sack #2 was on Woody. KC got flushed, had no time to even set his feet and ran into Kelsey who was not being blocked by Woody. FACT Sack #3 Crap call by Schotty. There was nobody open downfield and Poluzny delayed blitzed and came in totally unblocked by the OL. FACT
First of all he didn't utterly fail. He had a good drive for an important FG. Secondly this is a team sport and if you go back and watch the game you will see that it wasn't just KC out there failing. There were serious failures in the blocking up front that led to the sacks. Dbrick and Woody both shit the bed and then the Poluzny sack was ridiculous - he was totally not blocked by anybody - however KC should have thrown that ball away. The BL is that he didn't lose the game. The team won the game and the breakdowns on offense were not simply all KC's fault. Ultimately I don't want to see MS get seriously injured. I would rather see KC or EA play than risk injury to MS. And frankly, having watched the KC performance it was not just KC's fault and that leads me to think that he would be more effective given a week of solid prep with the first team. Thats just my opinion. Okay?
I don't understand why this is even a debate at all? It all seems moot. MS is the future of this franchise. Period. If he goes down, obviously we are going to be hurting regardless of who is behind center. There is a reason why MS was promoted to starting QB.. That is the only fact that anyone needs to know about. Period. Hopefully if KC does get called on, he will be able to provide enough to manage the game enough to help us win. All I ask out of the guy, hopefully he can atleast provide that. He doesn't have to win it, just manage. If he has to get sacked every other play, ok, just don't lose the fucking ball. K? Great...
Sack #1: Clemens failed to "feel the rush"(coach talk for the little internal clock in every QB's head that tells them they've been back in the pocket for too long, given the blitz package they just saw before the snap) and step up in the pocket, resulting in a sack. FACT. Sack #2: Clemens, a right-handed QB, somehow manages to not see the defender rushing from the side of the field that he has view of given the direction he has been facing during every play in which he has dropped back since high school. FACT. Sack #3: Clemens, after sitting in the pocket, either: 1. fails to see the blitzing LB coming from directly in front of him or 2. Sees him but fails to move outside of the pocket so he can throw it away. FACT. I'm getting fucking sick of these threads. Clemens is gone at the end of this season and Sanchez is going to start on Sunday, given that he was throwing the football around and planting on his right foot without any noticeable limp (see first paragraph for source). Fuck this guy.
Go look at the plays Coach Lombardi. Do you think OTs should be able to block and protect the QB or do you think its always the QB's fault when DL are collapsing the pocket? DBrick and Woody each gave up a sack and Poluzny was totally unblocked. Should we always just blame the QB when the blocking fails?
is it the OT's fault when Clemens trips over his happy feet when he attempts to scramble out of the pocket....is it the OTs fault that Clemens' hooks for hands keep fumbling the snaps? quit making excuses.
Not even a question, Sanchez, not only because he is our guy, but because Clemens is brutal, i really think we need to look at ainge or o'connell he looks brutal
according AbdulSalam....it's everybody else's fault but Clemens. I guess I better take my share of the blame....as should you, WT.
Disagree and I agree somewhat. Its not clear to me that you watched the Video. DBrick didn't hold Schoebel for more than a second. That is on DBrick - not even a question - DBrick owns that 100%. If you think 1 second is too long to expect your OT to hold a block on a pass play then you & I will have to disagree on that. Woody missed Kelsey on the second sack But I see your point somewhat - KC moved into a space and Woody failed to hold his man - 50/50 on that sack. and on the 3rd one you must be high or something since KC moved way way outside the pocket when Poluzny came in totally unblocked. I think Poluzny should have been picked up by SOMEBODY. But KC should also have thrown the ball away. 50/50
Watch the freaking video and quit making up crap. There was not tripping or scrambling on Sack 1 - Dbrick BLEW IT. On Sack 2 Woody couldn't hold his block on Kelsy and KC moving away from pressure got hit by Kelsy. Sack 3 Poluzny comes in totally unblocked.
I'm not making up anything...I watched the game...in real time. Clemens did nothing to to avoid the pressure, and when he tried to....he fumbled and almost cost us the game. Clemens has no pocket presence...whatsoever. If you can't see that.....then i can't help you.
