St. Louis won't take Suh due to the amount of draft choices that went to dline in the past couple of years, and the money tied up in it Adam Carriker Chris Long They simply can't have another top5 pick and money go to a defensive lineman. It has to be Clausen, or a trade.
Is it just me or does Suh look remarkably...(I can't believe I'm going to say this) skinny? He's not even close to Jenkins-like size, and people were saying he could be a 3-4 nose tackle? Idk, maybe I'm crazy, or misinformed.
No, House of Swords would be a 3-4 end...and he'd likely be a damn good one. This is a great year for terrible teams.
Suh will be most effective as a 4-3 DT. I think obviously he can play in any sytem but he would make the most impact in a 4-3- Tampa is the perfect spot for him and his most likely landing spot this early in the process.
Suh has dominated every game he's played...take your choice. One of the best Defensive line players in over a decade entering the draft.
House of Swords reminds me a lot of Warren Sapp. Defensive tackles that consistently get after the quarterback.
I agree that Suh consistently gets to the quarterback but I disagree with the player comparison. The closest player to Warren Sapp in the past few years has been Peria Jerry, and this is not because he is a Falcon but because of his size and style of play (I didn't want the Falcons to draft a 25-year old DT with injury concerns). He is a small gap penetrator that disrupts both the run and the pass in the backfield. Suh is his own beast. He is strong at the point of attack against the run and can hold his own against double teams, as well as break through them, and he is a great pass rusher from inside. Suh reminds me most of Kevin Williams coming out of college and I think he can have the same impact in his rookie season (Williams had 10.5 sacks, 51 tackles, and 1 INT).
The funny thing about your Kevin Williams' comparison is this: Williams has been compared to Warren Sapp since his rookie season. Both Suh and Williams are taller than Sapp, but they are perfect Tampa 2 defensive tackles. Hell, both are elite defensive tackles...either comparison works. Ndamukong Suh is a once in a decade talent at defensive tackle. I don't really see how Peria Jerry compares to Warren Sapp, but who cares?
