hahaha i said it about the game against buffalo...sanchez should not throw more than 20 times (and he was on pace to against buf, which is just dumb.)
The bashing of Clemens is getting ridiculous. You really think Sanchez is that much better than Clemens? You do realize Sanchez has been generally awful for most of the year. Not saying I wouldn't rather have Sanchez in there - I would. But I'm not sure the dropoff is as bad as everyone seems to be inferring. I don't think Clemens would have 5 picks in a game. And as bad as he looked on Thursday, he didn't turn the ball over and the coaching staff was handcuffing the hell out of him. Hard to succeed when it's 3rd and long everytime you throw.
The paragraph i bolded above is proof that you don't watch the games in any capacity. I didn't even bother reading the second paragraph.
Wow- Mark as a 21 year old kid beat out Kellen who's been with this system for years. We've seen what he can't do enough, Mark is already ahead of him and will be light years ahead of him this time next season. Why does Kellen seem to get so much love on here? The guy sucks, he maybe a a great off the field guy, but lets keep it that way. Leave him off the field.
We'll have to agree to disagree. Let it just be said that I do think Sanchez is and will be a MUCH better qb than Clemens. All I'm saying is, right now, Sanchez isn't exactly lighting the world on fire, and although there will be a dropoff, I don't see it as being HUGE like everyone else does. MB - no reason for the bashing. I watch every game and know football extremely well. We disagree about something...doesn't mean you have to go Mike Francesa on me. Sanchez has shown flashes this season for sure and I'm a huge fan of him...think he'll be great...but he has lost us quite a few games and never comes out of the gates well.
I'm not bashing you...just calling it like i see it. I watch a lot of football too. And for the record....Sanchez isn't a veteran.....he's still a kid learning the ropes....remember, he only had 1 year of starting at the college level too...Given his learning curve....i would say he's done quite well given the circumstances. Sure..he's made his mistakes....but he's HEADS ABOVE where Clemens is....which was made apparent last Thurs. If you want my full opinion on your boy Clemens....there's a thread i created entitled "Kellen Clemens....."...it has about 25 wonderful pages of what the majority here thinks of his skills and where his future is with this team.
But see that's my point...it doesn't matter than Clemens IS a veteran or that Sanchez ISN'T. I'm agreeing with you that Sanchez has played ok for a rookie. And that Clemens isn't good. But, RIGHT NOW, neither is Sanchez bc he IS a rookie. All I'm saying is RIGHT NOW, it won't be that much of a dropoff imo. And you can't base any opinion on that Bills game...he was handcuffed by the playcalls, hard to succeed when it's 3rd and long every play. But this will go nowhere so let's agree to disagree and end it at that lol
Are you kidding me?!...Clemens is not even CLOSE to being comfortable in the pocket. He fumbled two snaps in a matter of minutes......the CS clearly doesn't trust him throwing the ball. If you were making a case for Ainge.... I wouldn't be so adamant in arguing this....because we don't know what we have in Ainge....but we do KNOW what we have in Clemens...and Sanchez for that matter....which makes the choice obvious. I really believe Clemens is suffering from "shellshock" from playing that year without a stellar oline.....he's basically David Carr v2.0
Yea, they put Clemens on the field in game conditions for the first time in, what, 2 YEARS and he looked rough....Go figure. On top of that, no one seems to have noticed that the Bills smelled blood in the water and were aggressively attacking, and the oline was coming backwards faster than a rubber band. Add to that the fact that Faneca couldn't fucking block a falling fence post in most of that game.......but that's all on Clemens too right ?.... Clemens looked like shit for sure, but this over the top bashing of him is just typical bullshit. If sending Sanchez out there puts him at risk, even a little, for more serious injury or increasing the severity of this PCL injury, you bet your ass I want them to send Clemens out. Clemens can hand the ball off just fine, and he should be fine with limited throwing. He may suck, but he's not stupid. Sanchez is the future QB of this organization...and the one we will NEED if we do, by some miracle, make it to the playoffs via the wildcard.
