I don't know why there's so much hate for Theismann. I think he's very knowledgeable and does a good job with the game.s
I’ve got a friend who runs the waterside Marriott in Tampa – that is usually where the visiting teams end up when they are playing the Bucs. Anyway – this dude is a huge Redskins fan and in Gibbs return, he stayed there (with the team). My buddy (the manager) bumped the bell-hop to carry Mr. Gibbs bag up to his room telling him what a huge fan he was of not only the redskins but Coach Gibbs. So he lugs all of his shit to his room and Coach Gibbs thanks him, digs in his pocket and hands him some prayer cards. Not that the dude wanted a tip but seriously…who in the hell does that? For some reason after hearing that and a few other things about him being a holy rolling Jesus lover – I don’t want to hear jack shit come out of his suck hole.
I don't think many agree with you. Personally, I felt ESPN's crew for the SNF games was as bad as it got for NFL games. Theismann/Patrick/Maguire
Mike Patrick is one of the best play by play guys in the biz. I wish ESPN would bring him back and get rid of Tirico. Theismann does a great job on NFLN Playbook and I always thought he did a good job in the booth. Maguire was always one of the best analysts too.
That's a little over the top. So what, he is religous. Not sure why it offends you, perhaps in his eyes he thinks he is doing a nice thing.
Nothing offends me – I just don’t appreciate people trying to shove stuff down my throat…they never stop to think that what THEY are doing may be offensive to some. I wouldn’t walk around handing out atheist propaganda or devil worshiping cards out of respect that others don’t want to hear that shit. Most Jesus lovers don’t think the rest of the world is entitled to the same respect. Just saying it should go both ways. Plus – tip the fucking bell hop with cash – not some prayer card. Recognize that not everyone coaches football for 6M a year and owns a NECKCAR dynasty…some motherfuckers rely on tips to pay their god damn electric bill.
I wasn't saying you were. You're certainly entitled to that opinion, but I always felt that Mike Patrick was great if not one of the best PBP guys doing football. Theismann and my father were friends growing up so I'm a bit partial to him and I know he loves to talk about himself, but I always thought he gave great insight on offense. And Paul Maguire has always been a favorite of mine. He did a good job and provided humor.
