I'm very surprised with how well Sione Pouha and Mike DeVito have played since Big Jenks has gone down. However, Pouha is actually older than Kris Jenkins, so that means every player on our defensive line is older than 30 except for Mike DeVito and Ropati Pitoitua. I think Mike DeVito is a heck of rotational lineman - he's got a non-stop motor. He's definitely earned a job with this team. I'll admit, I thought this guy would be a giant load of suck. He's proven me wrong. Like WW has in his mock, Mike Iupati should be the guy if he's there in the second. He will be the best bet for this team's offense line. I'd really like to see at least 3-4 defensive linemen drafted in 2010...preferably a nose and an end. Cameron Heyward is flying up boards right now, so let's hope he's there when we pick.
Last year, we saw an extremely weak draft class, so QUALITY over QUANTITY made plenty of sense. 2010's class could be one of the best ever. This team has to acquire more picks. There's depth at almost every position, so we'd be getting QUALITY players in the 3rd and 4th rounds.
Sorry i liked your post until I saw a Ohio St player taken #1 again by the Jets. We can't take that chance again with the colossal mess that is Vernon Gholston. No thanks.
Another Bonehead that doesn't read the entire first post!! What does Vernon have to do with Heyward?? Vernon was an experiment (3-4 olb conversion) gone bad.
I'm willing to bet you didn't read through the entire thread. It would've gone over your head anyway. Cameron Heyward is catching up to Carlos Dunlap in the best defensive end rankings. I see a lot of Richard Seymour when I watch him play. If Eric Berry played for Ohio State, would you pass on him because of Vernon Gholston? I'll answer for you: No.
