I think that we probably want Miami to win this one. Right? PS. I knows its: For Whom Do we Root -- but it didnt seem right for TGG.Com
Miami without a doubt. tie breakers become irrelevant if we finish behind Jacksonville, so we need Jax to lose immediately and worry about both them, Miami, Pitt and Baltimore losing again later.
the Jets could win the rest of their games and still miss the playoffs, so what occurs to the other teams isn't moot at all.
So until that happens....it's moot. I'm more worried about the Jets taking care of their own business....and let the chips fall where they may after that.
If Baltimore loses tonite -- one of them will wind up with 7 losses. Also Pit at Miami to end the season. Remember also: Denver is basically in (with Oak and KC left) -- they should get to 10.
Absolutely. There really is nothing to worry about now except the Jets winning. The NFL is so unpredictable so there is really no way to tell whether Jax or Miami winning will help us or hurt us. In weeks 16 and 17, we will have a much better idea, but as of right now there really is no way to tell.
Jax needs to lose twice, Miami once (assuming we win out). So I'd say root for Miami this week to get one of those 2 loses out of the way, Miami SHOULD lose at least one of their next 3 afterwards, and Jax would only have to stumble once more afterwards
yup, it is one spot to fight for, Denver is good as in. A loss for Baltimore tonight and Jax loss to Miami and we have a log jam for the last spot. I can't think of a reason why anyone would rather have Jax with a one game lead and a tie breaker after next week as opposed to possibly all the teams tied at 7-6.
of course the Jets only can worry about themselves, but we are the fans and since we don't have to worry about playing the game can focus on all the peripheral scenarios as well.
No disrespect to WW85 and MBGREEN but I just don't get this mentality. Yes,"THE JETS" should not look ahead and should only worry about themselves, but we're just fans so I don't see what's wrong with following the rest of the NFL. If we look ahead, so what. It's not gonna distract the players in their preparation at all. If Rex Ryan started a thread on here about the Miami Jax game that would be another story.
I think thats right. These games matter -- because if any of these teams win out the Jets arent making the playoffs... The problem is -- and others have mentioned it -- is that 9-7 wont do it.
I mean no disrespect to the other posters either. I guess I'm just a little bitter....because if the Jets wouldn't have fucked the dog in the 2 Miami games and the first Buffalo game....we wouldn't be cheering for other teams to either win or take a nosedive. I want to see the Jets in the playoffs like any other fan.....but first and foremost...I want them to take care of their own business and learn how to win when it matters.......
That sums up my feelings. I get sick every time I think about us having lost to Miami twice and Buffalo once. If we take even one of those games, we're in a completely different position right now, especially if it was against Miami. The only team we lost to that we legimately had no right beating was New Orleans. All the rest were games we could have, and should have, won. We shouldn't have to be rooting for Miami ever. It sickened me to want them to beat the Pats, and it sickens me to want them to beat Jacksonville.
We def need the Dolphins to win, 'tis a no-brainer. Only benefit to Dolphins losing would be knocking them out of the hunt, but then we'd need Jaguars to lose 2 of 3 to get in, which seems too risky.
