    Phins I guess.

We need to win out to be a division or w/c contender, but so does Miami and they have a tougher schedule. I think they'll get knocked out of the race pretty quick regardless so it's better if they win this week and slow down the Pats.

I hate them both, and root for neither. I will just observe the game, if it is on in the NY region.

Yeah, because the Jets blew it twice. Bad D one game and Bad ST the other. I give Miami 0 credit. Haha. :)

Root for the Pats, the more they can bury any of our Wild card challengers the better for the Jets, I say root for all the division leaders.

I disagree with cheering for New England. If we are taking this serious, we have to cheer for Miami. The Jets will have to win out to get to (10-6) and have any hope right? Miami will not win out. They are terrible so the tie-breaker means nothing really. Being 1 game behind New England would be the preferable thing this week. However, it does not matter because the Patriots will crush Miami.

Go Pats. Jets need Dolphins losses for playoff hope, especially since they swept them.

What we all have failed to consider is that we're in the playoffs right now. The next game we lose ends our season. If we win out, at 10-6, chances are we're sneaking into the playoffs somehow. That's all that matters.

I don't think we are going to win all of our games, 3-1 maybe, Colts will be a loss and another terrible game for MS as BS will use this game to have him throw 35 to 40 times and he will have another 4 picks.

    Two points on this:

    1. Assuming the Jets fall behind by a few scores quickly then Sanchez will throw a lot. That's the only situation in which a rookie should be throwing the ball a lot because you're going to lose if he doesn't. Flacco threw the ball 38 times last year in week 6 against Indy because the Ravens fell behind 17-0 in the 1st and 24-0 by halftime. That just is what it is.

    2. The Colts have been shut down down on offense (less than 20 points scored) 3 times already this year and had another game at exactly 20. I think the Jets could shut down the Colts if they can take away Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark. That would be on Darrelle Revis and Eric Smith.

going with the fins, if we can get within 1 game of 1st place, everythings gonna change the whole metality of the team, everythings just gonna snap in place, im not dreaming i think this team is a few mental mistakes away from really clicking again, the closer the carrot the harder the push, thats the way i feel.

It's too much to assume the Pats will lose enough games to fall out of 1st place in the AFC East and that we'll surpass them. Not going to happen, no way, no how.

Therefore, the "correct" outcome, or better put, the outcome with the best chances for the Jets, is that the Dolphins must lose and fall behind us in the wildcard hunt.

Therefore, we need to root for the Dolphins to lose. Notice I didn't say root for the Patriots to win. In my mind there's a difference, even though I know it's very silly, but I can not and will not ever root for the Patriots to win anything.

So it's not "Go Patriots" as much as it is "Fail Dolphins, fail!

Can I root for a nuke to go off in that place? j/k. I would have to say we should root for the fins here.

Yeah, the Fins look like dead fish so far. How they beat us twice is completely beyond me.

Streaks can cause strange things to happen. I could easily see New England losing at Buffalo and at Houston if they lost to the Fins today. The teams they've played this season look like this in terms of total offense:

    Buffalo - 27th (Win)
    Jets - 12th (Loss)
    Atlanta - 17th (Win)
    Baltimore - 14th (Win)
    Denver - 19th (Loss)
Tennessee - 15th (Win, however the Titans were ranked 24th coming into the game)
    Tampa Bay - 29th (Win)
    Miami - 22nd (Win)
    Indy - 3rd (Loss)
    Jets - 12th (Win)
    NO - 1st (Loss)

So what they've done so far this season is beat the bad offensive teams like a drum (4-0, putting Ten in this group because that's where they were in the bad start), played even against the mediocre teams (1-1), and had trouble against teams with a decent offense (2-3).

So let's say the game at Houston is Houston's favor based on the above. Let's say the game at Buffalo is a division game and uncallable based on that since it's away and against a division opponent. Let's say the Fins win today.

That's a swirling mass of "I don't know" for the Patriots and I think it gives us a shot at the division if we win out.
