Per espn...maybe they'd be willing to part with Osi in the off-season for a certain POS safety...http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4714632
If you think they'd trade Umenyiora for Rhodes, you're out of your fucking gourd. An all-pro defensive end for a chump who'd wind up riding pine behind Phillips anyway.
6'3 261. makes him a candidate for 3-4 OLB. but it'll take him way to long to learn. He's already almost 30.
I know he has the size but I don not see the skill set outside of being a pass rush specialist. I am not even sure he can play from a two-point stance. One of the reasons he is getting benched is because Denver ran at him about 30 times and he came up with 1 tackle. He would be a more expensive, slightly better version David Bowens. Couple that with the age and he is almost useless for this team unless he can pick it all up on day 1.
Lol I only suggested the trade as a conversation starter and interesting food for thought. But it's funny to see the polarizing opinions of how even though Giants and Jets fans are down on the respective players, wouldn't like to see either one get shipped for the other. Truthfully I want no part of Osi. If the Jets priority is to get a pass rushing specialist with the money they'll surely recoup for cutting the Ghost, I doubt it'll be a 30 year old career d-end who would only now be making the switch to linebacker. That being said I still want that POS Rhodes off this team.
