agreed. this place makes me hate being a jets fan sometimes. i would say the logical/well thought out posters to douchebag ratio is 20/80.
Right now, I don't care if he drops 50% of the passes thrown to him...... 1) that means he caught 50% 2) that means he is still a viable downfield threat that defenses have to account for 3) that means that the running game is not seeing 8 and 9 in the box every fucking down..... If you release him, you have to replace him. Who's out there that is an affordable, tall, fast, physical, veteran WR who is still fairly young and has tremendous upside and their current team don't want 'em ? (and please don't offer up Brandon Marshall...he has at least as much baggage as BE)
Yeah sure, 4 fumbles in 5 years is really careless. Give me a break. This entire thread is filled with haters that aren't even paying attention. At least back up the nonsense with some concrete facts.
You know I pay attention. He is careless with the ball. ASll you have to do is watch him. The guy is as talented as there is, but if he cannot keep his head in the game, he isn't the kind of football player I like. I had these reservations when the Jets traded for him in the first place, and all he has done is show me I was right. I'm happy for the win, and his TD catch was awesome. But as a #1 WR, he cannot keep dropping the ball. It's just that easy.
I'm all for keeping Bray. But at 4M per. If he doesn't like it, I'm all for trading him. He wants to run block and sprint down field (a la DHB). Fine. But pay him accordingly. That's all I ask for. The FO should go into negotiations holding all the leverage in the deal. Hopefully the FO isn't as afraid to part ways with this guy as much as the fan base is if they have to. Worst thing we could do is have McCareins Part Deux for 4-5 years at 7-8M hit every year.
Edwards is full of potential. He just needs to find his chemistry with Sanchez they're always a step ahead or behind each other. the issue will probably resolve itself in time
Me too, I was thinking that it was too good to be true that he was that wide open I said to my dad "oh no" before he even dropped it.
this thread is retarded....braylon gets respect from defenses, why do you think our run game has improved so much since braylon got here...were 6-6 but 4 of those losses came at the hands of our defense and special teams...at no point this season can you say one of braylon's drops cost us the game...ill agree the one against the bills was terrible but he made up for it throughout the game especially on his td catch
Excellent point on Braylon's effect on the run game. Can't be understated. Keep him, but at a reasonable price. I think it'll happen. He MAY have the same confidence boosting effect on Sanchez that Plaxico had on Eli Manning. Liked the way Sanchez ran down field to boost his spirits after the BIG drop and keep his head up. That simple gesture of leadership by Sanchez goes along way to keep Braylon's head in the game. All reports are that Braylon Edwards likes it here and is a well-respected person in the locker room. Very different than what we heard out of Cleveland.
Off topic a little but being forced to start Sanchez in fantasy this week, that drop cost me some big points.
