What I like best about him is that he is 24. We better sign this guy long term because a #1 receiver won't touch us until 2020
Unless he completely implodes in the last few games against T.O., Reggie Wayne, and Chad OchoCinco, he will have proven it for two consecutive seasons. He didn't prove anything his rookie season.
It's his 3rd yr just fyi. IMO, he already proved he was a very good corner his first 2 seasons, but this year, has elevated his play to not only one of the best corners in the game, but to one of the best players in football, period. He has no weaknesses.
Yes, it is his 3rd year, how the heck did you think I did not get that? I said, this is his 2nd consecutive year in proving he is an elite Cornerback, I do not credit his rookie year as him doing anything. If anything, his rookie year was spent half the time being burnt in the slot, the other half learning to be a #1 Corner in the NFL. Yes, I am fully aware it is his 3rd year. I do not understand where one part in my posts do not say that clearly. Yes. He is the #1 Corner in football. No weaknesses? Okay. None starting as a #1, BUT if he were to cover a slot receiver, that would be a huge weakness.
Chill. You said you werent crediting his rookie year so I made the incorrect assumption that you thought this was his 2nd year. People are so defensive. You really think Revis can't cover slot receivers? I respectfully disagree.
I'll leave the 2007 game film for that one. Cincinnati game being the biggest showing of his lack there of ability to cover slot men. But who cares. He's a great outside Corner, the best in the game at this point. We don't have to worry about it.
You just said that in 2007 he didn't show you anything and he wasn't that great, and he has improved to the best in the NFL. You think he hasn't improved covering slot receivers since 2007? If he can shut down Moss, Owens, Colston, Smith, Johnson, etc.. I think he can cover Chansi Stuckey.
Can anyone tell me how many times Revis has been thrown at this season? He has 22 passes defensed and 4 picks... edit woops miss type on the # of passes defensed, but still wow.
It says 22 on http://www.nfl.com/stats/categoryst...-s=DEFENSIVE_PASSES_INT_DEFENSED&d-447263-n=1 which is enough to lead the league, that is incredible for being thrown at so little. The league leader last year was Ed Reed with 25, all season. Revis is on pace to have 30. As a CB that never gets thrown at.
that is so mind boggling, I really would love to know exactly how many passes are thrown his way this year. I want to know what the percentage is of passes thrown his way, to passes defensed. It has to be at least 80%, thats just insane!
haha I forgot your the idiot before the year who told us revis is overrated and was shitting on him all year..
T.O. has become a victim for the 2nd time this season. He must feel like a big douche right about now.
5 yes I said FIVE passes deflected and 1 interception. I don't know when the last time a player went 30+ pass deflects in a season but he is on pace to have like 38. I'm looking at previous years stats and don't see anyone past 25ish, he has 27 already.
I heard a pregame soundbite from T.O. on the radio before the game actually giving sincere high praise for the Almighty Revis Christ....... Is it me, or has Revis been getting BETTER by the game? He's been in the zone the last 2. Not only shutting down the opposing star WR, but also making plays all over the field, including the running game. Serious hustle along with his skills.
