Seen this guy a few times and he looks like a decent rotation lineman for future seasons. Its good to see the likes of Westerman/Devito and him contributing... maybe tanny has it right trade the picks and pick the best UFA!

in 1st quarter showed good bull rush inside and used his hands well , like his size and height.

Don't know much about him aside from being UFA but he looks like a keeper for next year on what will be on 2/5 of eff all salary!

DeVito has been great as a rotational guy. I wonder if he could step up as a starter when the time comes, because its coming very soon.

Ropati is very young. He's looking pretty good, but he can get better.

I read somewhere Pitoitua sarted playing football very late... so hopefully he'll get even better in the upcoming seasons.

I really hope DeVito grows into an at least adequate starter for us.

He's been good as a situational/rotational player. He has great size and a lot of room to improve. I only see him getting better but I do not want to see the FO/CS relying on him to be a starter next season and using it as an excuse to not pick up a better starter in free agency or a better starting prospect in the draft.

Alot of guys have stepped up since Jenkins went down, the held one of the best running games in the league to 75 yards.

The more I watch our team play the more I'm worried about OL more than DL.

Sure, we NEED a young DE and a young NT but overall we aren't doing so bad are we?

Devito has a heckuva motor. He's not Joe Klecko but he can definitely play at 3-4 DE as a rotational player. Pouha is ok also but only as a rotational player, whereas Devito might be something more.

I think we need OL depth for sure. I don't know about replacing the current OLine as they have gelled (jelled?) pretty well. Although Faneca is getting long in the tooth, I think he can still be a solid starter for another season. As some of the current OL members have said, the longer they are together, the better they know each other's tendancies wich makes for a better pass-block and opening holes for the rush.

    Just MHO....

It's always nice to have a high motor guy come off the bench - DeVito doesn't have all the talent in the world, but he's a pretty big guy and he goes all out on every play.

It's really not spoken about much but Rex seems to really do a great job developing defensive lineman and fitting them into his system. With a few exceptions the Jets defense has stopped every teams running game. They seem to struggle in the high turnover games cause they can't get off the field but when the offense isn't turning it over the line has done a great job.

Devito, Pitouha, Green, Pouha, Ellis and Douglas have been fantastic. I'm sure they will look to draft another tackle, but I don't think it's that big of a need. What they really need is a pass rush off the edge and better corners after Revis. Hopefully Westerman, Lowery, Murrell and Coleman can continue to develop.

he did look good, i remember him during one play in the beginning of the game when he was 1 on 1 with a tackle and drove him back 6, 7 yards in about 2 seconds...he's a strong guy

Man, a fusion between Pitoitua and Pouha should be outright beastly :p

Ropati Pitouitua shouldve been getting more time all fuckin year. this is one of the few moves I dislike.

he lit it up in pre-season and was inactive for the first 4 or 5 weeks, since then hes only dressed every other week and gotten 1 or 2 snaps a game if hes lucky.

the guy has great size for a DE and is good at pursuing the ball while engaged in a block.

i wanna see more of him.

We need more high-motor guys. Guys who will fight through a block or help close off a running play even if they have an O-lineman in front of them by moving the blocker towards where the play is going.....

This team should get better in that area in the next couple seasons...but there's still work to do.

I would expect we will see more of him next year. I also have liked what I have seen of him in limited action.

I think the main reason that Ropati was inactive for that amount of time was because of our constant injuries to the secondary and the need to dress as many d-backs as possible against teams that throw the ball a lot. Our lack of depth in the secondary is far worse than it is on the d-line.

But I want to see more of him, too.

^different positions, but yes, Gholston is the worst player on the team.
