In terms of Free Agency, we would sign a DT/DE like Ryan Pickett to address our hole at DE and a #2 CB. Jenkins-Devito-Ellis-Pickett-Pouha would be a pretty solid DL.

    Draft:

Trade: Jets start with pick #10 and move back to the 15-20 range, pick up a 3rd rounder.

    1) Jerry Hughes. Love him. He's gonna be an absolute beast and this would be a pretty good range for him. Hughes is a very good pass rusher and has only been playing defense for a few years so he needs some work, but it brings a potential terrorizing OLB to our defense.

    2) Nate Allen. Allen is moving up draft boards and would be a really good pick for us. He's a playmaker and that's something we could definitely use in our secondary.

    3) Danario Alexander. He has had injury problems and won't run a sub-4.40, but Danario has been unbelievable this year. He too is a playmaker and has single-handedly carried Mizzou to multiple victories this year.

So we get our rush LB, playmaking Safety, and another option for Sanchez. Yay.

yet our Oline and Dline depth continues to suffer.....picking up one DE in FA won't solve all of our Dline problems.

Who's gonna play NT if Jenkins doesn't recover or decides to retire? And if he does play, who's going to rotate in with him? Pouha, Devito, H.Green...they're not the answer....as we've seen in recent weeks.

Sorry dude...I don't mean to piss on your draft.....but if we take a OLB with our first rounder, I'm gonna burn Tanny's house down.

Some postives: I like the trade back....and grabbing a playmaking safety.

You might have to burn Tanny's house down then because it's not out of the question to get an OLB early. We don't have that guy who can consistently get to the QB and if one of Thomas or Gholston goes, I'd love for us to go OLB.

I think you're severely underrating Devito. I have us signing Ryan Pickett in this mock too and at 330LBs, he could absolutely fill in for Jenkins at NT.

    NT-Jenkins/Pickett/Pouha
    DE-Ellis/Devito/Pickett/Pouha/(guy with extremely long name)

That's a pretty decent DL. I would like to capitalize on the 3-4 DE talent, but with all the talented rush LB and safeties in the first 2 rounds, I'd like to address those too.

Your obsession with Jerry Hughes is getting out of hand. If the Jets take another 4-3 DE and try to convert him to a 3-4 OLB and fail, this franchise will be in the shitter for years.

Nate Allen is definitely a good safety prospect, but there will be better value in the second.

Danario Alexander has already had two knee surgeries. I know he's had a very productive season, but he's way too risky.

The defensive line is the weakness of the team. We have to take at least two defensive linemen in this draft.

If Kerry Rhodes is dealt like the papers are saying he will be, we should be able to pick up another pick or two - giving us a couple more options.

It's also a very old defensive line. We have to think about the future of this team...

I really like Hughes....but a OLB wouldn't be my first choice in Rd 1. I'm not a fan of converting 4-3 DE to OLB with an early draft choice.

Nate Allen isn't worth a 2nd Round pick. I do believe Tanny/Ryan will either draft a Safety early or get one in FA.

MR E. brought up the point of Rhodes being traded, which is very possible. I just don't think we will get alot for Rhodes, maybe a 3rd/4th Round pick at best.....his lack of play has been exposed.

The more we dissect the Jet's needs, we need alot of help. The Jets are at least 2 years away from becoming a contender.
