To anyone who's watched Cody this year:

Does he actually push people back if he's 1-on-1? Haven't had a chance to watch him in depth. Looking forward to Bama v Florida in a few weeks.

Yes.......but he's rarely one on one. Cody can colaspe the pocket. Cody's biggest strenght is taking on multiple lineman and creating a hole for McClain to kick ass.

Cody is a two gap NT...very rare player.

Cody as a jet next season playing along side Jenks would be beastly. An maybe cut gholston and do whatever with Bryan thomas and sign Peppers to play OLB, That would be immaculate.

I like the Seymour signing, and Cody pick on the DL next year with Jenkins if Mike T can make it happen. The Pats will not part ways with Wilfork.

I think this depends on Wilfork's asking price....The Pats have a pretty big NT waiting in the wings that goes by the name of Ron Brace....that they drafted in the 2nd round last April.

Wilfork may not be retained if the Pats are high on this kid.

The thing about Belichick is that he'll take experience over youth any day. He won't part ways with Wilfork. Brace can rotate in and out, but he will never be the caliber that Wilfork is and has been.

Given that jerkoff's history...I would agree with you. But then why would he trade away Seymour? Plus, Belichick is also known for being able to plug in new talent......that's why i screamed when he selected Brace....because he's capable of anchoring the NT position...thus taking away Wilfork's leverage during negotiations.

Having said all that....I think given the choice...he'd keep Wilfork...and he does have the option of franchising him. But if he doesn't...and Wilfork shoots for the sky regarding his asking price....I bet BB stays away.

    just my 2 cents.

I think him trading away seymour should tell us all that wilfork isn't going anywhere next year. He wasn't going to keep both of them and it seems obvious who he chose.

Do you really want to draft someone who failed the academic test to get into the University of Miami?

That is the role of a 34 NT or even any 34 DL. If people can't understand that, I feel sorry for them.

No way New England lets go of Wilfork either. No f'ing way.

We need a reserve for Jenkins and someone else to play on the line. Cody is the guy. The only way I can't see us taking Cody in Round 1 is if we either start winning or we do indeed get rid of Rhodes, which could open the door for Taylor Mays.

You guys may be right...I'm not disagreeing with you.

But when have you known Bill Belichick to latch on to players like grim death....unless their name happens to be Tom Brady.

Everybody (except the QB) is replaceable on the Patriots....Belichick has proven this time and time again.

Exactly right.....remember Belichick getting rid of Lawyer Milloy?

Belichick has a knack for knowing when a player needs to hit the road.

I do think Belichick wants to hang on to Wilfork, he's so important to their defense.

I agree, but try to convince most Jet Fans to understand this premise.

    I think so too....

In your opinion though...do you think Ron Brace could step in right away in case Wilfork hits Free Agency?

I think he could....and the possibility of Wilfork leaving is the reason why I think they selected Brace in Apr.

I haven't followed The Pats much this season, but I don't believe Brace has played very often.

I would think Belicheck is thinking of the future at NT drafting Brace. I still think Wilfork will be around a few more years.
