Who would have thought that Ms. Rhodes' play this year would have us yearning for the return of Abram Elam? Maybe Mangini was onto something.
and then you'd be furious about the long bombs given up by him. Rhodes may be slacking off this year but that kid is not ready to start. He may never be.
I agree that I wish we had Abram Elam still, as I was always a fan of him and his game changing/winning plays. However, I don't think Mangini is onto anything good over in Cleveland
Is Emmanuel Cook still on the PS? His emergence (Bob Sanders Part II hopefully minus the injuries) will help everyone forget about Elam and possibly, maybe even Rhodes down the line.
Here's an interesting little something via Twitter: Jay_Glazer: jets players tell me team is benching safety kerry rhodes for eric smith this week.
If that's true, I don't know what I'm happier about - this, or Rex breathing down Schotty's neck. It's too bad these changes didn't happen sooner.
According to Jay Glazers twitter the jets will bench Rhodes. I love it, if he doesnt play well after this hes worth cutting. Glazer is rarely wrong so I am happy.
Holy crap. Where the hell did this come from. I understand he has done nothing...but...well...Rex is laying down the law. Couldnt have picked more of an underachiever. Ok..good...I like it.
I do as well, if you think about it the reports about Rex not loving Rhodes all sound legit. That former scout of the Ravens who said the player either has to be tough to make up for his talent shortcomings screams him not liking Rhodes. I really like it, the only negative is if Rhodes starts crying which he might and doesnt improve his play, you can add safety to our needs, which could stop us from drafting a first round talent on the D-Line or a pass rusher.

End of an era or the beginning of Rex finally realizing he needs to put his stamp on the team. If the defense gels better with Smith then I'm in on this one.
Even if we still play shitty with Smith in, I'll count it as a victory. At least we know that Smith will be trying.
