Bill Callahan was a great offensive coordinator in Oakland. I think a quarterback like Mark Sanchez would do best in a west coast offense.
I couldn't argue with that either. Oakland was a well oiled machine until Tony Siraguesa belly flopped on Rich Gannon. That was the most brutal hit I've ever seen.
Paul Hackett. Always has an outlet for the young QB to dump out to. Believes in 2 WR sets with extra blockers to run the ball. Has no issue running the ball on third and longs. Only goes down field out of play action after pounding the ball. Got the Jets to the playoffs 3 out of 4 years he was the OC. Has a passing philosophy that keeps the QB in his comfort zone and reduces turnovers. There it is the perfect mind numbing O that most on this board seem to be calling for.
I think it's actually great to work as an OC for Rex. He leaves a lot of freedom to the OC and doesn't interfeer much... that's a coaches dream! Yeah our DL coach was fired but he didn't exactly have a strong resum? and Rex was a DL coach himself so I think he was the best guy to make that decision.
Raheem Moris is a really sucky HC... no idea how he got that job :S PS I like a lot what Jimmy Raye is doing for the 49ers... too bad we had him in the building as RB coach and let him go to keep Schotty.
There is rumor that C. Weiss might get the shoe at the end of the season. I just wish Sancheese would stop playing like he is cheesing.
I hope not, Buf won't win SBs but the will be good enough to win division titles and make our road much tougher.
Glad someone else had this thought also. I really want Shotty out. As for our history the two together might be successful. As they might rub off of one another and end up somewhere in the middle of numbingly conservative and careless.
I understand this thread to be a sort of wish list for posters here, but is there a single bit of news or other evidence out of Jetland to suggest that BC will be fired this off season? I don't know of any.
We could see if Kevin Gilbride wants to see if the kid hit harder then the old man???? LOL what if Dallas has a collapse? Jason Garrett might become available- ex QB and two years ago the really hot guy.
Jason Garrett is under a shitload of heat in Dallas right now....I think the honeymoon is over for him. I'm not sure I'd want him as our OC......we already have our own inept wunderkid.
Paul Hackett had the same problem that Schottenheimer has, in reverse. His situational playcalls were terribly conservative when setting the tone of the offense and also when trying to get into scoring position, whereas Schotty is at the extreme polar opposite, far too aggressive to set the tone and while in the red zone. Jumping from one extreme to the other will not help this offense achieve balance. Great teams win not only because of clutch play. They win because of clutch playcalls.
Jesus dude, I am unfortunately doomed to watch Cowboys games every weekend and the last thing you want is Jason Garrett with the Jets. He's worse than Schotty. He's terrible.
Alot of Garretts problems might stem from working under an "offensive HC" None of sit in on meetings but perhaps there is issues between him and Wade. The Dallas Job was Garretts in the future according to all involved. Its just a thought. The rumor mill is churning that Charlie Weiss would go back and work with Bellichek. From what I have seen its seems to me once guys get out from under the Parcells/ Bellichek Umbrella they don't neccesarily go back. You worked in a situation that allowed you to prosper but I believe very militant and restrictive in what you could do as far as speaking to media etc..... Would Weiss go back there? If not could we go after him??? P.S. to all say rumor has him out of ND- its much more then rumor his is GONE.
