Ok, it seems to me like Sanchez always does a PA fake regardless of situation, even if the HB is not even on his correct side, or already passed him. When he does this he takes his eyes off the D. You think Schotty is maknig him do a PA fake every single time or is this just something he likes to do? Also, Sanchez will get called for a false start one of these days when he does a hard count and bobs his head down trying to draw teh D off-sides. He's lucky no ref has flagged him for it yet. Seems as if he should be coached not to do taht.
What's with all the handing off too. I hate the way Mark hands the football off, it's stupid and completely pointless. PA passes are key for a run heavy offense, it should've worked in last weeks first play.

more great responses to a thread. no wonder all the threads turn into turds. streetfighterjet alot of times its a timing thing. the routes dictate that he needs to take a 5 or 7 step drop and as part of that needs to make a play action fake. if he changes the way the play is designed it will completely throw off the timing of the drop and throw. not that he really ever sets his back foot and throws but that is the idea i have been told about why play action fakes when its 3rd and 9. it does look rather retarded when the back goes the other direction though. and dont bother listening to the meatheads, they want to jump on every thread they can to make themselves feel cool or something.

If I'm not mistaken he HAS been called for the head bob on the hard count. But you're right his PA action doesn't fool anyone it should come with time. One more thing to add... I'm not a huge Farve fan but man he was good at the pump fake and play action. Let the kid watch some Farve and Big Ben footage two master fake out artists at work.
I don't recall him being flagged for it, I remember commentators talking about it at one time, but if he has been flagged for it and is still doing it then that's not good. Coaches should be on him for that... I guess as a rookie you have a lot of things to deal with at once
In all seriousness, is it possible that a play is drawn up for play action but the back sees a blitzer coming hot and goes for the block instead? Alleycat brings up a good point about the timing though, I never thought of that.
You know what you're right...it was the commentators talking about it just recently. I'm sure he's aware of it and working on it. I still feel good about Sanchez and he's actually not my major complaint with the team.

If you ask me the thread has already proven it's worth by inciting discussion on the intricacies of the PA. My opinion is that I would love to have the discussion not get hijacked every time a thread doesn't live up to you standards. Clearly the fact that Sanchez performs a PA Fake in scenarios where it seems useless, is not something that interests you, so having said that, GTFO! Thanks! My point was simple. Watch some of his PA fakes... while some of them are very good, a lot of them on 3d and long are some lazy fake hand off without even looking at the HB. NO ONE is going to fall for it, so why do it? I wouldn't mind it as much if he didn't take his eyes off the defense, but he does, and I can't imagine that being a good thing in any way shape or form.
