Even with the Jets losing today.....we didn't improve upon our #12 ranking. Pull for the Bears (Denver's pick) tonight.
There's not a guaranteed victory the rest of the way with this team (TB and Buffalo, maybe). I think we can make the top 10 of this draft.
If the CS decides to bench Sanchez for the rest of the season, this team could very well lose out. Kellen Clemens will have zero success with this team. It would be a smart move if the franchise wanted to tank games and hope for another high draft pick...that's not going to happen though. Mark Sanchez needs to continue to be the starter of this team. I think he can get us to around 7-9 or 8-8.
Trade with what???? For a Top 3 prospect!! We have no picks to offer without throwing the entire 2010's draft into the shitter. We need to stay put and see if Cody falls to us, if not, trade out to a lower Rd 1 pick and acquire more picks.
Tanny is going to have to pull some shit off - if we don't come out of this draft with more than 5 players, I'll lose all of my faith in the guy. I'm already down on him for trading picks for Lito Sheppard and Kevin O'Connell. If the Braylon Edwards trade elevates into a 2nd rounder, then I'll be pissed.
I can't agree with your choice of words there. We could win them, but not easily. THe Panthers have come on of late and are fighting for thier playoff lives and jobs. Buffalo jsut gave Jacksonville a good run, the Same Jackson ville team that beat us. Tampa is showing some life with Freeman at QB. Should be win able, but so many games should have been this year. Atlanta. Eh. Coin filp for me.
I didn't say that's what I wanted..................I want to try & trade down. But Mike T..........that's a different story.
No no no no no! We need to keep our picks and start adding some serious Depth on both lines this season. We have already used up a few picks in this draft and need to hold on to what we have now.
Like I've mentioned before, we may not owe anything for both players. Certain conditions have to be met. O'Connell is conditional 7th rd pick. Lito is based on him re-uping with the Jets. IMO, the Jets will still have 5 picks..........1,2,4,6,7 The Jets need to build thru the draft.....like the Colts. Polian is the king of building a team.
Agreed with this. If the Jets are picking in the 8-12 range, they should try to move back into the late 1st round. A team like Minnesota (QB) or Baltimore (WR) is always looking to move up and if the Jets can pick up a 2nd and maybe a 5th in the deal, we should look to move back 15-20 spots. 1 (25-32 range): Jerry Hughes OLB TCU 2 (40-45 range): Vince Oghobaase DE Duke 2 (55-60 range): Mike Johnson OG Alabama That would be sweet.
We are definately on the same page this year, I am also hoping we look at Mike McLaughlin in the later rounds, he has the size and is a smart player to be a nice backup and special teamer and switching in for Harris and Scott Seeing Izzo is horrifying
McLaughlin is a solid player, some may be scared off by his height. I've heard reports he's just under 6'0". I just don't know if we would invest a draft pick on a MLB.
I agree there, we do have some depth, but also not alot of quality in the middle, he is looking like a 5-6 rounder and if we lost Scott or Harris is would be a big deal, I am hoping we move a roster player for some more mid to late round picks
Week 11 is updated. (1st Post) The Jets actually move from 12th to 13th.....even with a loss. Teams with the same record (4-6) ties are broken by strenght of schedule. Here's an explanation of draft order rules: The team with the lowest winning percentage at the end of the previous season drafts first in the NFL Draft. • The rest of the teams are placed in order from lowest winning percentage to the highest. • The Super Bowl winner drafts last, even if they do not have the highest winning percentage. • The Super Bowl loser drafts next to last. • Strength of schedule for the previous season is the first tie-breaker for teams with the same winning percentage. • Divisional and conference records are the next step in the tie-breaking procedure. • As a last resort, a coin toss is used to determine the order of selection for teams with the same winning percentage. • If a playoff and non-playoff team end the season with the same winning percentage, the non-playoff team selects before the playoff team regardless of strength of schedule.
