We held them to a 3 and out on the first series. If our Offense had done anything on thier turn it looks like a good move.

At this point our team is not playing at all. ITs sad to watch.

The pass blocking is awful. Again we line up with 5, maybe six blockers to protect the rookie QB. Pressure gets through and he throws a pick. Is it that hard for shotty to understand he needs more blocking to help settle the kid down early on?

The coaching is awful at this point, but it has little to do with defering the toss.

 

Deferring is a good strat, in my mind. It's high risk/high reward, which is how this team has played the entire season anyways.

We stop them, we get the momentum at the start, then we get the ball at the half. If we score then, we get it again.

They score, we still get the ball at the half and a chance to get that momentum.

 

The original poster may be onto something here. If we had received the ball first, I bet we would be up 24-7, not the other way around.
