Lowery won't be covering Welker. Pettine said so much in his presser this week. He said it's a bad matchup.
Agree with the posts above regarding Welker. He absolutey kills the Jets(and most other teams for that matter). We have to contain him today. Also their rookie Edelman hurt us the first game, Jets need to jam him at the line and mess his routes up.
Right there. IMO Welker is the #1 weapon for Brady. VERY rarely drops anything and always makes huge plays. WTF were the phins thinking by letting him go? To the OP, no matter how much I hate a div rival, I can never wish serious injury on a player, whoever it is.
we gotta watch out for those screens to welker. if we contain that at the line of scrimmage we'll force moss to go deep and gives our D a chance to get at him. brady is not the great when on the run. therefore, we have to make him run...ALOT!
Miami is going nowhere. A Jets win puts them and Miami 1 game back of NE, but if that happens the Jets have a much better chance of doing anything than Miami. And that is a small chance.
Last game it seemed like Strick had a pretty good beat on those Welker-esque LOS bubble screens that they were throwing the Edelman. Where coverage broke down on the slotman was when the Pats ran away from Strick and towards the middle, which is where we've been soft since Week 5. But, honestly, who knows - maybe this is the week where everything comes together.
I asked that to a buddy of mine who is a dolphins fan and apparently Welker had a hardon for the Pats for a long time before heading over there. He does not garner warm fuzzy memories for their fans IIRC, as some of them suspect he didn't go all out while with the Dolphins in the hopes of switching teams.
let's see what it feels like to be a jets fan today. Jets need to make a statement here.... beat the pats.
WEll this is the rare win/win game for me as a Fan. Beat the Pats and we are in the fight for the Division. Lose and we fuck over the Phins. One way or the other its a defining week for our season.
