Anyone interested in a thread like this? I was hoping to start a thread where we could all exchange knowledge. I personally always use the Jets and have some stuff I could add. Ofcourse this is only if people are interested.
In desperation I throw deep and high to Braylon Edwards and out jump the Db's for the ball, it's almost too easy...
I try to use Keller a lot....run behind the guards. On D I put Jenkins in and put Pace at DE. Everyone's playing zone online and using this blitzing strategy where the stand up the D-linemen like an LB but a foot off the LOS...they seem to consistently come unblocked. So much zone now though...it's crazy....
Probably the most important thing is to use Darrelle Revis with defensive assignments. You can go into your main menu to defensive assignments to assign a cornerback to cover a specific player everytime you do man to man coverage, instead of Revis always covering the #1 receiver. For example, whenever I play against my brother, who is a Dolphins fan, his receivers suck, and he likes to throw to Anthony Fasano, the TE. I assign Revis to cover Fasano, and Lito to cover the fast Ginn. Now it takes his safety valve essentially out of the game with Revis covering him, and he still tends to force the ball to Fasano, allowing Revis to get some interceptions.
This is how I ussually set it up. LE Thomas NT Jenkins RE Ellis LOLB Pace LILB Gholston - there is a reason for that I will discuss later RILB Scott ROLB Harris LCB Lowery RCB Lito FS Revis SS Rhodes This is how I set up the depth charter. I do change things around based on the front I'm running. Tom I will go through those fronts.
Ty Law is a friggn 98 overall in madden! wit 96 speed..just put him on ur new jet team..see how good they do with him...hes awesome!
Gholston at DE, Ellis at the other DE, make Douglas my #2 DT...one of my favorite plays to do is to put Leon at FB and Jones at HB by going dual HB, doing a play action pass. Either hit Leon in the flat, Keller on the flag, or Edwards and Cotchery doing other things. Tough to defend, and usually Leon can get past the LB.
PA Passes to Keller are pretty much automatic the first 2 times you use them, they are great to get you out of a 3rd and long
Just remember to put Hartsock at TE if your running to the strong side as Keller can't block to save his life. And running the toss sweep with Greene is just illegal as he can plow through the defenders and never seems to go down. I've had a few long TD runs with Greene due to the cheap pile up animation where the runner just pops free from the pile while everyone else thinks the play is over.
If I run a two TE set with the purpose of running I will put Turner in. I will sub Keller in for Hartstock in a two TE set I want to pass out if the D is blitz happy and keep Turner in to help with the blitz. That is good stuff, I never, ever run with Green unless I had to. I never tried to sweep him against the smaller DB's. I bet if you can get him in the flats he could be a real problem for a D too.
If using the Jets' default offensive playbook a good play to run with Greene is the Quick Pitch from the Singleback Bunch -formation with the Base package (subs the TE with a FB and the 3rd WR with the TE) and subbing Hartsock for Keller at the WR3 position. Works like a charm. There is also a very annoying thing with the Jets why I hate playing with them. The fact that Mangold seems to get raped by the opposing NT/DT every fucking time I try to run up the midlde. Unrealistic and very annoying.
I run with NE's playbook on offense and the NYJ one on defense. Still NE's PB has the same run I believe. I will try that. I will mess around with the subs - but online it will look like you are coming out and passing based on the pre set package. I know EXACTLY what you mean about Mangold. Even on pitchest he will run around like an idiot and miss his block almost all of the time.
1. I dont use jones he's slow, doesnt break any tackles. hes 3rd on the depth 2. shonn greene is a killer, just dont pass to him. 3. fowler and harris at Ilb. scott as olb. Thomas is horrible 4. switch leonhard and rhodes 5. gholston on de 6. dime and quarter formations ellis at DT (92 overrall) pace at de 7.try to give brad smith the ball, he ALWAYS breaks tackles. 8. Sanchez throws a GREAT deep ball 9.keller on drags are good money NO playbook.. phenomenal
