Since next years uncapped, I cut gholstan, sign wilfork, and draft mt cody.

Doesnt even matter whos playing lb, thats the biggest/meanest 3 down linemen in football, period.

If we signed Wilfork, we'd have no reason to draft Cody.

I'd rather see the Jets sign Richard Seymour or Julius Peppers to a huge deal.

Any of the above are fine with me. The sight of Sione Pouha lining up over the center and getting blown 10 yards back on the snap still keeps me up at night.

I'll take Cody and Seymour...and maybe Peppers.

Peppers is a freakish talent....the fact that he doesn't show up every week to play his ass off.....scares me. If I were Tanny...I'd tread lightly before offering this guy a big money contract.

Seymour would be a good pickup.

And of course....I'd love to see Cody in a Jets uni next year.

If Seymour is available I say it's a no brainer to sign him. I would still draft Cody if he's available when we pick even if we do sign Seymour. That would give us all the D-line depth we need

The fact that the Jets are playing so poorly gives us a better shot at Cody.

I just want to warn some Jets fans....don't expect Cody to be this dominate force and be a sack machine and have lots of tackles for a loss.

The uneducated fan will be disappointed with Cody's stats and claim he's a bust. Cody will do all the dirty work taking on multiple O-Lineman and closing lanes for the Linebackers to make plays.

This is what I'm afraid of with Cody. He's not going to generate a lot of pass rush and won't put up numbers, but he'll do exactly what you said.

Some Jet fans will call him a bust when they look at his numbers, but he'll be a huge help to our pass-rushers.

Kris Jenkins doesn't put up huge numbers, but you saw the impact he has on this defense

Jenkins collapsed the pocket and got to the QB a lot more than Cody will.

I'm just trying to point out ...... many Jet fans want productive #s from their 1st rd pick.

He serves as a blocking back in goalline situations, plays guard on the FG/XP team and has blocked 2 FG this season, and then we can talk about his work as a dominant 3-4 DT....

True, but if your going to get drafted in the first you are expected to do more than do your job, if he can develop into a guy who can get 7.5 TFLs by his prime its ok, but we could draft a nose tackle who simply does his job latter in the draft. Now Im not saying he has to be the greatest NT ever but he needs to be an impact player
