Reshad Jons seems low to me. He'd be a really nice compliment to Kerry, plays the LOS well and is great at stopping the run.
He's been kind of mediocre when I've watched him this year, and he's up against a downright loaded safety class.
GH...awesome job my friend!!! Always enjoy your perspective!!! A few observations: QB....Not much to argue....I like Pike a little higher. I'm not a Snead fan and could see him even lower. Dan LeFevour is a special player that is so productive. Living in the Mid-West I get to see a few of his games and he's fun to watch. RB.....I love Mathew's big play ability, but would put him just after Spiller. WR....Glad to see Tate moving up, he has the strongest set of hands I've ever seen by a College WR. Tough SOB!!! Some team is going to get a steal at the end of rd 1/early 2 drafting Benn. Where is Briscoe???, should be a top 10 WR. Williams is off my early draftboard. OT.....rankings seem to change daily.....Charles Brown maybe the Top tackle come April. DT.........Brian Price??? He may declare. DE....I'm disappointed Wootton was ranked so low. When healthy, he's a great player. ILB.........weak class!! McClain is the best by far. Spikes should have declared last year. Im kind of surprised that Harry Coleman, not Chad Jones made the list. then again Jones is probably about a year away from being a good safety. Coleman has played quite well this year
When it came to underclassmen safeties, I just didn't feel Jones was as ready as some of the other guys. Just like the guys that WW pointed out, my guess is that even with the pick cap coming, there are certain guys that'll stay out of the uc exodus because they'll be much better off staying in school. For each of Briscoe, Price, and Jones, they each would have to have a hell of an offseason to crack even the top 4 at their positions. They'd just be better off sitting out of it, and being the top senior guy at their position for next year.
I wasn't sure where to put this because I didn't want to start a new thread to ask a simple question, how do Toddman and Dixon from UConn project as future NFL players? I just wanted some input on TGG's draft gurus on this question because I love watching them run.
IMO, Todman has the better future in the NFL, only a Sophmore, he may enter the draft in 2011. Todman is more of a break away runner and not as physical as Dixon. If Todman has a good 2010 season, which is likely, he could be a 2nd rd pick in 2011....his height may scare some NFL teams. Dixon is a Senior and has a limited career, decent, not great. Dixon may be a very late rd pick in April. Not trying to take anything away from Todman or Dixon tody....but Notre Dame's run defense sucks balls. Our local H.S. team is more physical than ND's defense.
I really want Erik Decker on this team. He seems like a big, physical receiver, which is something you can't really have too much of. Do you guys think his sprained foot will cause his stock to drop?
His foot has been chronic all year. Almost every Gopher game Decker has come out to get his foot taped. He's a tough SOB and has played thru the injury most of the year. Decker will probably be a Mid/Late Rd 2 pick. The Jets just don't have enough picks to draft a Wr in Rd 2. Everything depends on Free Agency/Signing Edwards...I bet we grab FA, WR in the spring.
I just looked over this list again and I can't fucking wait until April. 2010's draft is so full of talent - our team can really load up on a lot of future starters if Tannenbaum makes a few smart moves. There's a ton of 3-4 talent at OLB and DE. The safety position is deeper than I've ever seen it. If most underclassmen enter in 2010, this will be the deepest draft in a long, long time.
I know I've said this before, but I'm down on Clausen. I think he is real banged up and has to find a way to win some of those games. I know the D sucks, but he has a ton of talent around him.
ND's problems are on defense, and questionable play calling at times. Floyd was out most of the year. Jimmy C and Golden Tate were the bright spots....and are sure to enter the draft with Charlie moving on.
Hard to figure exactly. I had a basic one before the season, but I just worked on it bit by bit, updating as I've needed. As for the other recent points: WW's right, Todman > Dixon. Going to be a scary good RB class in 2011 potentially with Mark Ingram, Dion Lewis, and Montel Harris all being then-juniors. Mr E's right on with the 34 talent and safeties. Both stronger than I have ever seen. Especially at 34 OLB, just neverending supply, to the point that there's more players that fit better in a 34 than in a 43. Eric Decker is a stud, I wish they could find a way to bring him in.
