Would he replace Thomas? I want a pass rusher god damn it. Someone the QB points at every play to tell the OL where he is.
Norwood has the ability to play inside and outside. His best quality is his non-stop motor. I don't think he'll have great timed speed, so that could cause him to slip into the late first. Over the season, I've noticed that EVERY team that Carolina plays game plans around Eric Norwood.
Who is the OLB that I would want then? I don't get into prospects until after the season. I know Kindle is an athlete but I've watched a few Texas games and he didn't make me say wow.
I like him a lot but I don't think he'll go in the 15-25 range, probably a little later, but who knows it's still a long time until draft day.
I didn't say you shouldn't want Eric Norwood. He's arguably the best pass rusher in the SEC, which is the best conference in the world. There's a guy that plays at Southern Cal named Everson Griffen. He is the most physically gifted player that I've ever seen. Griffen's 6'3 260 and supposedly ran a 40 in the 4.3s. If he pulls that off at the combine, he'll go in the top five. If he runs in the 4.4s, like I think he will, the Jets will have a shot at him. EG's not just a workout warrior - he's a very productive player. (Actually now that I read over my post - if Everson Griffen runs anything under a 4.65 at the combine, he'll go in the top ten.)
Good stuff. And I didn't mean it as I didn't want Norwood. I would just rather have Merriman (2 years ago) than Woodley. Not to say either of them aren't fantastic football players.
