It seems to me like a lot of members of this site are already considering the season to be over when in reality WE HAVE 8 GAMES TO PLAY! I mean, we wait allllll summer in anxious anticipation of football season, which in my opinion, is THE BEST SPORTS SEASON and half-way thru it people are ready to stop watching? what the fuck are you gonna watch instead? the Rangers?, The Islanders? the KNICKS FOR GOD SAKE? fuck you guys, seriously. We're only a game or 2 out of first place and we play some cheesy-ass teams here on out. If Mangini was coaching this team, yeah maybe id be pessimistic too but Rex and Co. seem like they really wanna win and they truly believe they have the talent to do some damage once they're in the tournament. LOOK AT LAST YEARS ARIZONA CARDINALS! THEY SHOULD HAVE WON THE SUPERBOWL! AND WE KICKED THEIR FUCKING ASS. what im saying is, if you truly believe that the season is over, then find something else to do on sundays as well as on this site, give your tickets to the best Jets fan you know instead of eating them and having 2 or 4 more empty red seats shown on tv at Giants stadium, go rake the fucking leaves or walk your dog in the park all day, or do some chores your wives would scream at you all to do while your normally too busy for cuz your watching the games. we don't need pussy-ass pessimistic fans in Jets land. I believe in this team, and I believe WE WILL make the playoffs, just gotta take it one week at a time, and it starts with beating Jacksonville. Who's with me?
I'm with you. The reason people are writing off the season though is because we are 1-3 in the division and we lost games to the Bills and Fagphins which we should've won. So if we lose them, how are we going to beat the Cots and the Pats and Bengals. That why people are writing off the season.
Because jets fans are like abused children.....we get our hopes up just to be punched in the face again by the person/team we love most. The first sign of problems and we give up.... I actually dont feel completely that way, I still have hope, but just answering your question.
Jacksonville, Carolina, Tampa Bay, and Buffalo are all games WE SHOULD WIN, and who's to say we can't win ATLEAST one game against NE, ATL (which i'll be at, and the Jets never have lost when I go to a game) Indy or Cincy (who i still think is overrated and will fail down the stretch)? but like i said, one week at a time, we take care of jacksonville, hopefully get some help from Indy, THEN go into NE and kick their fucking ass like last year. and presto, first place. season is not over by any means folks.
Because some Jets fans are pathetic. Because some Jets fans may even subconsciously prefer seeing the team lose so that they can complain. Because some Jets fans merely see the final score and don't remember how we got there. But most importantly, because this Jets team had serious problems coming into the season which it is fair to assume will only be exacerbated by all the injuries and the tough schedule.
It depends on what you consider 'writing off the season'. I don't have any illusions about the Jets winning the Super Bowl this season - they aren't. But we have an excellent core of players and some promising signs in the coaching staff, and the team is in a developmental stage that makes for a pretty exciting time for Jets fans. Hardcore fans who know the reality of the situation can still enjoy the season, because we have a rookie QB and a rookie HC and we want to see them take the early steps toward greatness. Just because people aren't riding the Jets Super Bowl bandwagon all the way to a December broken heart this season doesn't mean they have given up on the season. It just means that they are realistic.
I agree superbowl is unrealistic at this point, but Playoffs no way, anything can happen once you're in. i.e. arizona cardinals. I just wish more people believed that we are indeed a playoff-caliber team this year.
Jacksonville, Carolina, Tampa Bay, and Buffalo are all games WE SHOULD WIN, WE ARE BETTER THAN THOSE TEAMS You guys talk like we can't beat any of the "superior" teams. We've never beaten NE before? or Indy? (ill never forget that raping we gave them in the playoffs) or the fucking Cincinnati Bengals? give me a break.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You won be 3 points. Against Matt Cassel. We are just a much better team this year. Winning in Foxboro is not an option for you this year, so you're going to have to find another way into the playoffs. Maybe if you close your eyes and wish really hard baby jesus will give you a miracle.
I'm with the OP- When this team plays up to their potential they can play with anyone in the league. The Texans offense has been taking off and look what we did to the Pats the first time around. Without any BS I think we could win out our schedule, but they'd have to play like JETS, as Rex likes to say. For many they say, SOJ, but not even close to me-
Man you are bitter about that week 2 loss. You must have a pretty exciting life to spend most of your day on an opposing teams site. You're probably banned from any Patriots site so I guess I can understand. Why do you trust in tuberculosis? is that your favorite disease or something?
Should is a good word. You SHOULD have beat Buffalo the first time you played them and you SHOULD have beat Miami both times you played them. Your argument gets especially weak when you start talking about what the Jets (or any team) have done in years past. Different teams buddy, it means nothing. See you on the 22nd.
I'M WITH YOU!!! I joined these boards like a year ago to get a more direct link to Jets news and talk some bullshit with my fellow Jet fans.. but now it seems there are more people out there anticipating a bad season and almost rooting for it.. rather than be optimistic.. yeah yeah how can you be optimistic with the SOJ .. shut up.. when we were 3-0.. the threads on here were shit.. i mean there were a few here and there decent ones worth reading.. otherwise just stupid shit.. but when we started losing.. HA!.. this place lit up and there was just thread upon thread with 100+ responses.. I don't know about everyone else.. but there was one thread a lil while back about how prior to the season startin.. somesome one said we went into the bye week 4-4 one game behind the pats.. he would have taken it in a heartbeat.. AND I AGREE.. we were projected to be 8-8 or 9-7 At best.. but if you look beyond that.. we have a solid young team and it will just get better from here.. our offense.. is really solid. i know faneca has been playing like shit.. but everyone else has been showing great potential. This jags game is going to be huge. Not just because we need wins to get into the playoffs.. but we are coming off a bye and we need to see how our team is gunna respond.. of the next 8 games.. 5 should be solid wins.. ATL, IND, and NE are all possible wins as well, but we are going to have to play mistake-free football. All hope is not lost.. despite what 90% of the ppl on this board say.. if we win just 1 of the 3 "harder" games.. and the games we are suppose to win.. which seems to be more difficult than winning the harder games recently, 10-6 is a solid record to compete for playoffs..
Please remind us what happened the last time the Patriots faced a good defense. The Jets defense is far better than any of the teams you've beat this season. Brady looked real good against a couple of winless teams and the shitty Miami secondary though. It's funny how quickly you guys forget how we slapped Brady around like a bitch that game. Hit him 23 fucking times. You guys want to make yourselves feel better by saying it was just rust. Any QB will struggle getting hit that much, even Tom Brady or Drew Brees. Enjoy your loss at Indy this week.
My life is quite exciting thank you. I just have the flu and nothing makes you feel better like watching a bunch of desperate Jets fans dream about making the playoffs. I AM bitter about week 2. I don't like when the Pats lose EVER, obviously. But I think the drubbing you get on the 22nd will wash all that bitterness away.
You know what would really entertain you? If you made a thread in the Jets forum about how the Pats are awesome and better than the Jets. You'll get some hilarious replies
