agreed. everyone wants to bitch about something so they think they know what theyre talking about. and we know the Jags are better than advertised but in all honesty theyre only as good as the game Maurice Jones-Drew has. granted hes great, but theyre one dimmensional. plain and simple. and their run defense has been very average since Stroud went to BUF. Rashean Mathis after being a top 3 CB for quite sometime has fallen off from a lack of pass rush theyre used to having.
The Jets at 10-6 might get it done for PS play, but 11-5 is a lock. We really need a great second half of the season. We'll see, but realistically it is looking like 9-7 and home on the coach for January.
Sims-Walker needs to be covered in the passing game... he won't be much of a factor. load up on the run, get them in 3rd and long and force turnovers.
The only thing I'm thinking is beat Jacksonville so that I can care about the Colts Pats game. It's hard to get into the Sunday night game when the Jets lose, and that's such a good game I want to care about it. Don't ruin another Sunday Nighter, Jets.
Personally, I think we need to play one game at a time and concentrate on beating the Jags. However, I do believe that the Patriots are a beatable team. People need to forget the past and look at the team they have now. Yes, they still have Brady, Moss, the O-line, and Belicheck, but the rest of the team is quite different and, in my opinion, overrated. The formula for beating the pats is the same now as the last time we played them...pressure Brady, knock him around, make him have to scramble, and play decent run defense. That's it...and it's worked before. After that, it's up to the offense to control the running game and pick on the pats weak corners.
the games against jax and carolina are going to be tough b/c they run the ball really well ... we need to get ahead on those teams early and hopefully they will abandon the run if you can take moss out of the game, ne's offense struggles. we can do this better than any other team with revis and rhodes... we still have a realistic shot at the division
I understand all that and I'm not saying we're guaranteed to win. I just refuse to write that game off as an "automatic loss". If you get pressure in his face, he isn't the same quarterback and that's something I think we can do again. If they max protect against the blitz I think our DBs can do a good enough job in coverage to at least contain that explosive offense. On offense, Sanchez appears to be hitting a stride and the Pats defense seems more vulnerable than it has in years past It's gonna be a tough game no doubt, but one the Jets can win. Whether they will is to be seen
I don't really disagree with threads like this one, but personally I would rather talk about the rest of the season coming off a win than a thoroughly depressing loss to F'ing Miami. Hopefully a win this Sunday happens, and the Jets are at least back in the game. I am not going to assume they beat anyone if they can't win this coming Sunday.
yes, i see the Bucs won, didn't realize we were playin' buffalo in a Toronto dome...... how is that Fanbase?
^ the Toronto fanbase? its not the same as if the Jets were playing in the cold or the snow with rabid buffalo fans at Ralph Wilson stadium. Its also a domed stadium. So the Bills don't have a weather advantage.
its such a damn shame that they are playing in toronto. thats a really great fanbase up there in buffalo too. fuckin shame i tell ya.
So, not to get off point too much, but.... why are they in Toronto now and what's the status of Ralph Wilson stadium, and Ralph Wilson himself for that matter??
