    See I don't get this. In my view we played MUCH better than 4-4 and should have won both Miami games and the Buffalo game. Hartsock penalties in 2 of 3 games actually cost us the win. I think the absolute minimum we win is 5 and I think we will win 6 or 7, possibly all 8 if Manning is rested. 4-4 is the worst possible record we could be, and we WILL be better second half. Now way we go only 4-4. NO WAY

    I am not thinking of the playoffs in any terms, any, unless we beat the Jags and then the Pats to go 6-4. Then I will talk. At this point, we are not a playoff team at all

    we root for the ravens, they go 5-3, the bengals go 5-3, and we play the bengals so.....

    and no matter who wins out of the fags, cheatriots game, we are happy, for the wildcard and division purposes

    why would we want the pats to win they are the bigger threat to the division then the phins and then the bengals have the better record and are a serious contender as are the ravens but bengals are still ahead.

    Only game I really don't agree with the pats-phins game. You have to root for miami in this one. That would keep us only 1 game behind the pats with a game still to play against them.

    So you want Miami back in the division race with a 4-0 record in the division and we lose every tiebreaker against? We need Miami to get buried as fast as possible, NE is still catchable even being up 2 games.

    Like your optimism but we're not going 8-0 the last half of the year. If we do, I'll shit my pants in joy.

    exactly.. the game at foxboro would be a must win for the division anyways and lets face it that game the odds are against us.. We need Miami to be out of the way

    I'm not concerned with Miami. If we take care of the pats in foxboro, I'm confident that we can finish the season with a better record than the dolphins.

    We need the Pats to beat Miami because they have three division wins. We are not going to catch the Pats , So At the very least we need to sneak into the playoff's with a wild card. Baltimore is going to be one of those teams there at the end that we need to loose. San Diego will also be one of those teams at the end. Not to mention the Houston Texans. We have a long road ahead of us and we need to win all of our game to have a chance period!

    AFC East Div Champs:patriots
    possible wild card: Jets-need to win!!!!!!!

    AFC West Div Champ:Bronco's
    Possible Wild Card:Chargers-Need them to loose!!!!!

    AFC North Div Champ :Steelers
    Definite wild card :Bengal's
    Possible Wild card :Baltimore-Need them to loose!!!!!!!!

    Afc South champ :Colts
    Possible wild cars :Texans-need them to loose!!!!!!!

    5 definite and 4 possible's. one spot left! we need to keep winning and the rest will take care of its self.

    what is interesting is the amount of optimism in taking the division from the Patriots.

    they are a game and a half ahead and are getting stronger. Not to mention coming off a bye as well. The fins aren't beating the Pats.

    everyone needs to look at the wild card, but understand the only thing between the Jets and a WC birth are the Jets and two AFC North teams that are better than the Jets at the halfway point.

    Just root for the jets to win as much as possible, but understand that this might be the kind of season 90% of us saw coming - 7-10 wins.

    If this is how the division plays out:

    Pats (5-2) (12-4)

    Fins W
    @ Indy L
    Jets W
    @NO L
    @Fins W
    Carolina W
    @Buff W
    Jac W
    @Houston W

    Fins (3-4) (8-8)

    @NE L
    TB W
    @Carolina W
    @Buff W
    NE L
    @Jac W
    @Tenn W
    Houston L
    Pitt L

    Jets (4-4) (9-7)

    Jac W
    @NE L
    Car W
    @Buf Toronto W
    @TB W
    Atl L
    Indy L
    Cincy W (last regular season game at the Meadowlands)

    Wildcard possibly, division highly unlikely.

    We have no control over Miami we do have some control over the Pats, once Miami is out then we can root for Miami to do all the damage that they want

    well we are about to use this bye to hopefully work the kinks out we still have a game against NE so I'm not giving up on the division until there is no hope yet

    I believe head-to-head is the first criteria for determining who gets in from 2 teams battling for a wild card spot. At least that's good news for us with regard to Houston's bid for a spot. It's like we have a half-game lead over them just for that reason. So, among these teams, we really have to focus on hopefully SD and Balt losing more.

    Why do so many people believe we want NE to win. Why are we so worried about Miami at this point, if we take care of business Tiebreakers dont matter, just finish with best record. If NE falters in a game or two they should not its still our most direct way into playoffs, by winning division.

    I should mention make the tiebreaker work for us by catching NE and beat them heads up twice

    Who is giving NE the 3 or 4 losses to get them to 11-5 or 10-6?

    I think you are thinking too hard here. In my opinion, this early in the season, the only thing you can root for is to even out the division as much as possible (WCs are too complicated). I get that the Dolphins have a tiebreaker over us, but I'd rather see us within 1 game of first to keep any chance at the playoffs alive. I'll be rooting against the Pats....I can't bring myself to say I am rooting for the Phins.
