Most sports have a third jersey. Hockey has "3rd" jerseys too that they wear occasionally. Like many have said, its just another jersey that they'll hope you'll feel compelled to buy. That's capitalism baby. Honestly I like the idea of playing in the navy and gold a couple times a year, but I don't like using the Titans name, it just feels wierd. Especially since there's the TN Titans now.
I 100% agree. 1 game a year would be sufficient. We are doing so much, we are starting to lose our identity; that is not good.
The national identity for this team is "Same Old Jets", so maybe a new identity would be a good thing.
That's only the identity for the fans that choose to believe that. You think Jet fans have it bad?? How bout being a Browns fan? A chiefs fan?? Saints haven't done crap yet either, but this could be there year. We won what was the biggest upset in SB history. Browns, Lions, Jags, Saints and the Texans haven't even appeared in the Super bowl. To you they're the same old Jets but many fans have a much different view.
If we need a 3rd jersey, why not stick with our current color scheme and just make the jersey black? It works pretty well for the Ravens. The Titans is for the throwback games. It's being used a little more this year because of the anniversary. If I was the decision maker on the uni's, I would scrap the Titans, add the 90's , and a black alternate. Hell, we have even sold the black alternate, I had a Keyshawn in black.
For the record, I don't believe in SOJ or live this way. But you can plainly see by so many posts here that many Jet fans do. And fans of other teams do perceive the team that way. Until we win, that's just the way it is.
i actually hope so. i think blue would work better. Blue Angels colors or something. Or maybe a gray for fighter pilots. something that has to do with the name Jets. or Get helmets that look like pilot helmets, and wear black for home games during the winter and a light gray for away games. And it better look scary
Those uniforms are baller. Fuck blue. Half the teams in the league wear blue and it's fucking boring. I'd rather have a uni that was ugly, yet distinctive than one you couldn't pick out of a lineup. The Jets unis are simple and classic, yet distinctive. And Green is an awesome color.
Don't worry, last Sunday was the 3rd and final time. Last 8 games will be in Green & White. They should've spread the Titans of NY uni's out more. 3 in 8 games is a bit too much.
