I know there are bigger things to worry about with this team after starting 3-0 and now being 4-4 with 2 losses to the Fins and 1 to the Bills inside the division, but what is with the Titians uni? I know it's the 50 year AFL thing and all that but come on already, why do they wear that ugly uni so much?? I miss the green & white, they are the Jets, not the Titians..I am all for respecting your roots, but wouldn't like 1 game a year be good enough with the Titian uni? I swear if they show up for the Jags game wearing that dark blue & mustard thing again I'm going to write the Jets a letter and see what the obsession is..it sure as hell isn't a good luck charm anymore...The Fins took care of that...:finssuck:
That is a good question. Anyone with working eyes should be able to tell they incredibly ugly and shitty. We're the fuckin' JETS not the Titans.
I'll give you a hint... MONEY! The NFL is all about how to make more money from the fans... and obviously the think if for every AFL team a fan can buy not 2 but 4 different kind of jerseys the NFL will make more money. It's sad but it's business...
Well the Jets need to look around the home games a little better, there are not that many fans buying that ugly thing if you ask me....I have a home & away of our current jersey, (both Chrebet) and I have an 80's Al Toon & 90's Neil O'Donnell, ( Sorry, I thought he was going to be a good pickup at the time) even though I respect the NY Titans very much, I would not wear that uni, it's hideous.....
I thought this would be a thread calling out all those fans obsessed with bitching about the Titans unis. I see I was mistaken. Every team has alternate unis or throwbacks. If the Jets weren't making money off these then they'd be making money off the 80's style jerseys and gear, which they'd probably find more profitable since there'd be more appeal.
they think it makes $, but fans will only buy so many jerseys, and they would prefer green/white over the titans. i dont see the titans jersey generating additional revenue, unless it gets jets collectors to buy them. also, i'd rather look around on a home game and see the crowd decked out in green and white, and not have to see some navy blue and yellow spots.
I really hope you are right on that one!!! And someone else said that an 80's throwback would be a bigger profit then the Titian jersey? I agree 100%..I'd love to see a game in the old 80's/90's jersey..but just 1 or 2...
You're right it isn't the most important thing we have to worry about, but I freakin' hate those unis too. We're the Jets, not the Titans. I hate 'em and I hope that, after this year, we never have to see them again.
The Jets normal uniforms are ugly too. They're also very passive. Green is not a power color and never has been.
I disagree I love the jets current uniforms. I like the 80's ones as well even though they were cheesy. (like all uniforms in the 80's throughout all sports, hell like everything in the 80's in general)
Personally I think the blue and white Titans uniforms look a lot nicer than the Green ones - I know that we are all supposed to pretend like we don't prefer them to show we are true fans11111!!!! but, honestly, they are much nicer and most neutral observers would say the same.
If the uniform was so great, and the Titans were so awesome how come we changed the name after 3 seasons to the Jets? It's an ugly uniform and we've worn it half the time this year... looking forward to returning back to the old green and white, preferably sooner rather than later.

It's a homage to our history. Harry Wismer our original owner was on the verge of Bankruptcy, but the AFL would not let the New York market lose its team. If Wismer had more dough, they would've likely never been renamed to the Jets. They were re-branded and it worked from there. I just watched that Jet history DVD, it has some great stuff. So this and money from Jersey sales.
Personally, I love the Titans unis. But definately getting used way too much this year. I actually miss seeing us in the green and white!
