Its Weatherford and it was a fake punt. VG is working hard and when he is in he contributed to an excellent defensive effort. I understand that some folks enjoy bashing players but in the case of VG he has improved his game and he is contributing to the defense pretty consistently.
How do you say that. A 1st round draft pick number 6th overall, and he is yet to ever have a sack, and I can count how many tackles hes had for his career on my hands. VG is a sad display
in a sense you are correct. he's doing the unnoticed jobs like taking on blocks and letting others make plays... one problem - he was drafted to scare defenses. He doesn't scare the cheerleaders.
its sad. Woodhead should not have been activated. He wasn't needed. He doesn't know enough about ST to be any good and I just saw the replays - I can't believe he was allowed on coverage. It was a Pee Wee display of coverage on Woodheads part while a guy like Murrell who is awesome on ST would have helped immensely. horrible decisions from the CS.
Here are the facts.....It was a fake punt...but it wasn't called by Westhoff, Weatherford went on his own. Westhoff said in his Presser that Weatherford saw everyone running up field and decided to get the first down all on his own. Are you watching OSU games from 2 years ago?........he's done nothing to warrant the 6th pick in the draft.
go to newyorkjets.com and listen to the westcoff interview. he was asked why Murrell was down and VG was up. his answer: "That's a good question. Go ask the HC"
AbdulSalami has yet to provide any concrete examples of where Gladys has improved. I'm still waiting.

At this point it looks that way, but he could save his roster spot by contributing during the remainder of the season. He's got to show the ability to rush the passer, then he'll stick around as a pass-rushing specialist.
