Beat the 4 bad teams on that list. I can take losing to good teams....its losing to the bad ones that drives me to the Dark Side.

    Exactly.

When you lose to a good team, you're pissed, but that pissed-off-ness is usually subsided by Tuesday morning and you realize that you lost a good game to a good team. You realize and evaluate the mistakes, talk about it and move on.

When you lose to teams like Buffalo and Miami, that is just inexcusable and will piss you off until Thursday or Friday, maybe even until the following Sunday and if you lose again it just continues to pile on.

Judging by opposing teams records in the next 6 games the Jets SHOULD go 4-2.

Anything less will piss off 99% of this fan base and anything more will excite 99% of this fan base and get them talking playoffs again, myself included in both of those catagories.

yeah i tend to lean toward this mentality. playoffs would be great, but its not my main concern right now. making sure that we see progress from the 2 big rookies we got is top priority.

4-2 seems, like mick said, most probable.

    Jacksonville home
    WIN

    New England away
Ya never know but ill count it as a Loss.

    Carolina Home
    WIN.

    Buffalo away
    BIG WIN.

    Tampa Bay Away
    NO BRAINER WIN.

    Atlanta at Home
    Possible Loss.

4-2 wouldnt be terrible. Anything less would be disappointing. I personally think well go 5-1.

New England will be a tough matchup but why not? We beat them once, but this will be much tougher for both teams.
Atlanta will be hard but we can beat them too.
Buffalo? Why not? Cuz we lost? You are contradicting yourself. Buffalo would be the easiest game IMO and we may even roll over them and knock them to the curb.

My guess is, we go 4-2 and lose to NE and Atlanta in the next 6. Being at 8-6, we would probably be controlling our own destiny for the playoffs.

Why wouldn't we play those teams close? Our defense is good enough where nobody should blow us out, and the Falcons are an NFC team that doesn't win on the road. The Patriots game will be tough, but why would we have no chance? We've beaten them 2 straight times.

I would be delighted with 4-2, especially if the Pats game was one of the wins.

I won't be jumping off a bridge with 3-3 either - and that's what I expect from the next six games.

I think this team is capable of making the playoffs, but they just keep finding different ways to lose and that's a major concern.

6-0 would tell me the Jets had a shot at a playoff spot. Really any season in which the Jets lose to the Fins twice is a disaster. Nothing has a worse aftertaste than that for me as a Jets fan. They better beat New England now. Sweeping New England would almost make up for watching a team in teal uniforms beat us twice.

what does that mean, they lost, to the same team we handed game too. You speak like we don't belong on the field with Atlanta which is definitely not the case at all. We will be slight dog? probably but definitely winable game

4-2, would be an optimistic, yet reasonable expectation.

Speaking for myself I would begin, and only then begin, to consider a shot at the playoffs if the the Jets bounce back with a win against Jville and then go and beat NE. Beating NE is key, but of course will do little to advance the Jets toward the playoffs unless they first beat Jville.

No need to even talk about the rest of the schedule, since the question is "do they have a shot". Until they show they can win the next two including against NE, the answer is they don't even have that.

    I agree 100%.

If we don't beat NE it will be damn hard to make the playoffs. Our divisional record would be horrendous.

I think we can and will beat them though. I'n not just BS'ing I honestly believe we'll go up to NE and beat them.

I agree that this is the minimum number to have a shot.

Then they probably will have to win their last 2.

So I see it as 7-1 for the rest of the year and an outside chance at the post-season at 6-2.

If the team goes 4-2 over the next 6, you can most likely consider a win against the Colts cause they will probably be 13-1 at that point anyway and in the drivers seat.

Cincy will be a bitch but they have been lucky this year too.

I'm not getting my hopes up so I'll just be happy with a winning record even if we don't make he playoffs.
