Many a wise coach has reminded their teams, owners, and fans that the NFL season is not a sprint. It's a marathon. A lot can happen league-wide over the course of eight games.

what i take from this is that you expected the jets to be worse than they are this year. they were supposed to get blown out and beaten down in a few games this year and never really have a shot. what we got was a team that has put up a fight against even the best the league has to offer this year. it is frustrating to know they could have beat the saints, the dolphins twice, and the bills, but came up short.

i am of the opinion that playing these close games now is going to be seen as a blessing down the road. it could be as early as next year depending on what moves are made during the offseason. this team has all the puzzle pieces to grow into a contender it just needs to get pieced together correctly. the biggest part of that is going to be sanchez. when he is at a point where he can be handed the ball from the beginning of a game and move the offense we will see a dangerous jets team.

i say this because it doesn't seem to matter who is on the defense, the coaching staff knows how to scheme and knows how to coach good technique. next year i can only imagine the defense will be improved because i don't believe we have any chance of losing any key players on the defense. so bringing in some young talent to work into a rotation plus the vets having a full year to work within the system should mean we will have one of the better defenses in the league next year.

so it is going to come down to how fast sanchez can develop into the franchise qb he was drafted to be. i will be praying he takes the flacco route, but i guess the possibility of the eli manning route also exists. in the end the most important part of this year has always been building a strong foundation for the years to come.

I expected the Jets to be 6-10 or 7-9 if they did not pick up help at wideout, which they have. I certainly did not EXPECT they would be swept by the f'ing fish.

Ftr the NE team the Jets beat were not playing well, and are playing better now. If the Jets were to play NE this coming week, what do you think the Vegas line would be?

The NO game was a good effort. And a loss.

Speaking of NO, I saw the first half last night. Those two teams look like they play in a different league than the poor play we've seen the last few weeks, even from Jet opponents who have won, like Buffalo and this past Sunday. NO was a good performance by the Jets, way back in week four. Since then? Not so much.

And I would hardly call the Titans one of the best in the league.

As far as the overall record of coming up short, as Parcells used to say, you are what your record says you are. And the record shows the Jets have lost four of their last five.

indeed they have, and losing to the fins twice sucks a giant donkey dick. i just don't see how the team being exactly what we expected them to be is getting so many people up in arms. the second that sanchez was named the starter everyone had to know this was going to be a rough year. between his rookie mistakes and rex's rookie mistakes the team was bound to lose games they should have won.

i guess i just don't understand being mad about the team performing to expectations just because you don't like how they have performed to those expectations. i bet if we trade one of the losses to the fins and take a loss from the texans people aren't quite as close to the edge of the cliff.
